Review summary

First European cruise proved to be a great way to visit many locations without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Service is always top notch with Celebrity as well as the Sky Suite accommodations. We enjoy all of the amenities attached to the Sky Suites: Luminea, the Retreat, butler, and concierges. We only wish the shows reflected the rest of experience.

Embarkation

Wow! The most simple boarding process ever. We were met by food, beverages and our soon to be concierge in a large clean area. We were invited to board immediately. Very impressive start to our cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We dined primarily at Luminae. Food was excellent as was our waiter Dino who learned our preferences almost immediately. Food offering in the Retreat Lounge was excellent. Main dining room was attempted at lunch but was almost too crowded to find two seats together. Too much work!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did little other than use the Retreat area because we enjoyed the space provided to us as Sky Suite guests.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Elton John and first comedian were very entertaining. Other shows were pretty underwhelming.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Perfect service from our butler Izzy, our steward Savio, our favorite bartender Vince (Retreat) and our concierges John and Mar. They all represent the fine service we get when we cruise with Celebrity.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the ship from stem to stern. Clean and refreshing decor. Felt very relaxing.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was as expected but the bathroom was extremely large and comfortable. The vanity was much appreciated. The deck was spacious- liked the window at the side. We would not have liked the interior deck offered in other areas AT ALL. Enjoyed ours!

Ship tip

When in doubt about anything, utilize the knowledge of your butler and concierge staff. We sure did!

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Nothing done, although we could have shopped

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Took an Almalfi Coast tour and loved every second of it. Much to do at this location but we had already experienced most of the other options.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

3 out of 5
Gave a 3 stars because we can’t remember what we did! Oh, we did a Hop on Hop Off bus.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
We did Hop on hop off bus and loved every second of the city.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

5 out of 5
We did an excursion that was Nice, Eze, and Monte Carlo. Loved all of the towns we visited. Our tour guide moved too quickly for half of us and we had issues finding our way back but the places we went to were a hit for us.

La Spezia, Italy

5 out of 5
Great location to go anywhere. Again, because of previous visits, we chose Cinque Terre villages by train. Can’t go wrong with any options here.

Awesome cabin. 1 Question: how is the bed positioned - is it on the wall towards the bow or aft of the ship?

Did the Retreat offer an afternoon tea at 3:30? If so, was it self serve or was there an attendant?
