Review summary

Edge is the ship of the future. Can’t say enough about all it’s many features and new design. Eden was a bit wierd during the immersion shows but otherwise amazing. Oh how could I forget, the Captain was from Greece.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
New Celebrity Xpress boarding is great. Uses facial recognition along with your previously scanned passport. Walked right on board and stateroom keys were at the cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All dining was superb. Took advantage of LePetite specialty and it was terrific. Quite the show that made dining fun. If you want to chat with others at the table this is not the place for you.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Edge features Eden, a garden that transform from dining area to stage to golf course. It had one of the strangest immersive shows I have ever seen, a dance of the walking dead on marijuana. Poor choice of entertainment for a ship with a much older crowd onboard. Perhaps they were planning a ship full of Millennials?

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff we encountered were terrific. We dined in Blu and had the “Firecracker” as our assistant waiter. Wayland earned extra attention on our Celebrity questionnaire.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Edge is indeed the wave of the future in design and technology. The infinity cabins are amazing and bring you into the essence of cruising.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Phenomenal. Storage everywhere. Infinity design brings you right to the water.

Ship tip

Explore the whole ship. There are spaces everywhere not just by the pool. The rooftop garden is exquisite and quiet as is the solarium pool.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
The Edge has its own new terminal which was clean, comfortable and efficient. Although with Xpress check in, we went from the parking garage, through the terminal and onto the ship in 20 minutes or so.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
Docked at the Navy base so we had to take a shuttle into town.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Cozumel, Mexico

George Town, Grand Cayman

Disembarkation

Very smooth, entire ship was disembarked by 9:30.
