Review summary

Overall this was a great cruise. Celebrity did not disappoint, the food was solid and the service top notch. I’m glad we saw the Mexican Rivera, though I was disappointed in Cabo and would never want to go there again Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta were great.

Embarkation

So very easy and well organized. We arrived at 11 AM and were on board in no time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was overall solid. Main dining was a bit repetitive but was very tasty. Buffet was typical buffet food no issues. Loved Tuscan Grille and Le Petite Chef was fun! Was disappointed in Murano the fish I had lacked flavor.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty to do on board. Loved the fitness center, the Solarium was clean and quite, main pool was busy did not really use. My one issue was we booked the Persian Garden and boy was this a dud! Nothing special about it for the price, 2 steam rooms, custom showers and hot beds not worth the money, I asked for and got a refund (spa credit which I used for a wonderful message). There was plenty to do on board.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I’m the the biggest entertainment guy, my wife and mother in law loved all the shows, I prefer to hang out in the hot tubs and drink so not really one to comment. Gave it the rating based on what the family told me.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Top notch! All the staff was super duper! Very friendly and kind, the staff is one of the reasons why I love Celebrity. Never waited for a drink, service in the dining areas was on point and room steward was the best.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean, clean and clean. Great job the ship was spotless.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Concierge Room, very happy with the size and so clean. The only issue was not a lot of storage space but we made do.

Ship tip

Don’t book the Persian Garden, it is basically just a steam room, totally not worth the $$$$….Always check the prices for the add one’s (specialty dining, excursions and drink packages) on the Celebrity website. We were able to save $$$$ by checking 1-2 times per week and caught some great deals.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Another fabulous port! We booked an excursion through Celebrity to Las Caletas Beach Getaway. Wow what a great beach, so relaxing and the water was perfect. We left the beach after a few hours for a rather mediocre lunch but this was the best port.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Did not like this port at all! It is a loud tourist trap with vendors as far as the eye could see. We ended up booking a $20 tour of the coast line which was nice and cheaper then the Celebrity tour, after this we went back to the ship. Would not return here, not my scene.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
What a fantastic port! We ventured off and went to Stone Island (so easy to get to, 10 minute walk to the water taxi and 10 minute walk after the quick taxi ride). We hung out at Lety’s restaurant, enjoying good food and drink. The ocean was so nice! The locals were super friendly and hospitable. Would love to return here.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

We stayed close by at the Double Tree, I found the area very lovely and the port was so easy to get to with minimal traffic.

Disembarkation
