Review summary

A lovely cruise and very relaxing. I doubt if we will be back, so made as much of it as we possibly could. The ship was somehow different from the last time we were on it, but it didn't detract from the enjoyment of being spoilt rotten!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very crowded as 3 ships in. Took well over an hour from start to finish

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
MDR fine, but ocean view chaotic a lot of the time. The food was fine, but I'm not much of a foody.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Only participated in the quizzes. My wife did the karaoke.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Didnt go to the theatre. The musicians around the ship were good, but didn't go out of our way to see a particular one.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most staff were great. Some of them were a bit too jokey about our English accent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Loved the lawn club. The ship needed a new coat of paint, as our balcony was covered in paint chips!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A good small cabin. Strangely there were no in cabin tea and coffee making facilities, or are they just a British thing?

Ship tip

Enjoy it!

Ports of call

Sitka, Alaska

Did an excursion to see otters, and did! They also gave us a seaside tour of the town. Worth the time and money

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

4 out of 5
Wow!! We managed to get very close in eclipse. Amazingly weird and wonderful icebergs

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Did a whale watching trip and saw orcas and hump-backs. Then onto Mendenhall glacier. A very good excursion.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

4 out of 5
Not sure what to look for here. We seem to pass through at night one way, and in daylight on the way back

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Went for a walk along the Rainbird Trail and had a nice walk back through the town afterwards.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

4 out of 5
Had 3 nights here before sailing, so had a very good explore. Stanley Park was great and there were a lot of good eating places.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Good. We were the last off as we had a late flight, and there were no hold ups

Viking advertises coffee makers in staterooms. Will find out for sure in Nov.

Just a British thing, have not seen tea or coffee service in the rooms sailing out of the states. Glad you had a fun relaxing trip.
