Amazing cruise, amazing experience. ... by rusty256

Ship: Celebrity Constellation

Amazing cruise, amazing experience. Would recommend this cruise and ship to anyone. Though I might have chosen a different time of year to travel. Hard to to see the sights when it is so hot. Food was good though staring to get a little boring in the buffet by the end of the trip.

This was one of our... by England9

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Constellation

This was one of our best cruise experiences to date! Sure the vessel was beginning to look a little tired in certain areas. However, the attitude, enthusiasm and service of the staff more than compensated. Everyone we came into contact with, from the officers to our Cabin Attendant were so attentive. Their primary objective was to ensure that we had the best holiday experience they could give. We found the itinerary to be excellent. Two days in port in Dubrovnik and Malta ensured that we could explore both destinations at our leisure and not feel that we had compromised on what we wanted to see and do. The variety and quality of the food in both the Ocean View Cafe and Main Dining Room was superb. Special praise to our Cabin Attendant, Mr. Nino and waiters, Mr. Gerry & Miguel!

Excellent Adriatic 9 Day Cruise by Doozie62

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I would like to thank Celebrity Cruise Line for offering such a wonderful Cruise Ship and incredible Ports of call. My daughter asked me if I were to do this again, would I take the Cruise or use the days for one specific place. I definitely wouldn't change a thing. We would not have seen all these beautiful cities (all so different) if we didn't take this cruise. Now I have more places to visit on my bucket list. Thank you, Celebrity and staff. Perfect :)

We had a large family group oh 18. Everyone had a great time. A cruise allows everyone to do their own thing or to spend time together as they choose.

very nice ship, smaller then... by Choppie17

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Constellation

very nice ship, smaller then the others in celebrity but you appreciate the smaller crowds, make sure you buy a drinks package you will not regreat you don't hesitate when you get a drink, how much is that going to cost. and if you post a lot on facebook about your holiday get the internet package for you hole cruise, it cost about $250 for the duration of your cruise or you will pay $49 A day, if your cruise is 7 to nine days, do the maths you will save money in the log run. if you do these things before you cruise you will have a stress free holiday.

Okay, but nothing great by njmcm2000

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Our Constellation experience was a definite step down from our last cruise on the Equinox a few years ago with Celebrity (to many of the same ports); but, all-in-all, we still had a good family vacation.

This was our first family... by pop1234

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Constellation

This was our first family cruise and didn't know what to expect we had great fun exploring the ship and all ways found plenty to do and see the excursions were good and our 4 year old granddaughter loved the fun factory ( she never left the boat) the food was excellent and the staff were fantastic we had a joining state rooms with our daughter and granddaughter and they were clean tidy and well equipped the house maid was wonderful we opted for chic dining in the evenings and the waiting staff were friendly and professional but made a point of interacting with our granddaughter which made the dining experience special for her can't wait to go cruising again

The staff was hit and... by gilagirl

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Constellation

The staff was hit and miss on this ship. Some of the staff said hello and smiled all the time, and others barely grunteD. It felt like the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing some days. We had some great service and a lot of so-so service. For instance, at Cafe Al Bacio, I ordered a latte at the bar. If I wanted it in a paper cup, they would make it for me right away. If I wanted a ceramic cup, I had to go sit down and wait for someone to come by and take my order. It took 10 minutes for anyone to show up and then they asked the people beside me if they wanted anything, but didn't ask me. I also had a concern about a charge on my bill. It was only $2.36, but I knew it wasn't ours. Guest Relations was firm that it must have been us and that we just forgot or something. Reluctantly she called the bar and asked them what the bill was and when I confirmed again that it was not ours, she said she would look into it and get back to me. I never heard back, but two days later the charge was reversed. Guest Relations staff should be empowered to reverse charges under a certain threshold (ours was only $2.36). Our exchange took about 10 minutes plus whatever time she expended after I left. I get managing losses, but this was silly on her part for time spent and annoying a frequent passenger early in a cruise. This has been by far our worst Celebrity experience from a consistency perspective - I hope it is just an anomaly on a ship about to go into dry dock.

Fabulous Unique Itinerary by smccoyphd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Loved the itinerary, did all excursions with recommendations from Trip Advisor:Bravo Bombay, Oman Day Tours, Cochin Day Tours, Magic India, and Rita's Gourmet Cooking in Goa.

Food was very good but nothing exceptional.  Don't waste your money on Specialty dining...only the Ocean Liner was worth it.  This Tuscan grill is not Italian and the room is a converted florist room.  The sushi room is weird not exactly a premium location or nice experience.

The entertainment was excellent..loved the early show (7PM) then later dinner.

First time cruising by constelation

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Not really knowing what to expect we were happily surprised that cruising exceeded our expectations. It was an amazing holiday, all the staff were friendly, polite, helpful always wanting to do anything they could to make sure that you were having an enjoyable time. The food was fantastic in every restaurant that you could choose to eat in. Rooms were lovely comfy beds lovely bedding and checked twice a day. The only thing that was negative was the amount of time on shore, some of our ports where a fair distance from where we needed to go, so we did panic on a few occasions getting back to the port on time! However over all it was great and we would definitely recommend cruising to anyone of our friends! In fact we're now looking for our next one!

Good morning Vietnam by cferry

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Just got back from this cruise, the  Celebrity Constellation staff and crew were fabulous. Our favourite part was Ho Chi minh City and Nha Trang beach, runner up was Ko Samui in Thailand. As far as the ship itself, our favourite part was the food quality, definitely above average service was efficient and polite. The only downside really is the time it takes to drive into some of the destinations from port, can be up to 2 hours by bus but if its your first time and you get a guided tour its worth it so you make sure to maximize your time and see the best sites.

Two thumbs up here!

Asian Getaway by tonianorris

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Just loved unpacking our suitcases and over two weeks we visited 7 ports in 5 countries. Food was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Weather was pretty much perfect and can't wait to do the next one. Only thing I will emphasise, for this particular cruise, realise how far some of the tours are from the ports. In some cases they are nearly 3 hours each way. And some of the ports like Manila, Boracay and Kota Kinabula are easy to tour on your own by foot.Big Smile

Have just returned from a... by Jhepf1

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Constellation

Have just returned from a cruise with celebrity constellation, was a bit concerned as it is an older ship need not have worried.it was totally amazing. The crew all friendly, food in main dining room and ocean view buffet was beautiful, plenty of choice for everyone. The pool deck very clean. My cabin 8065 was lovely and cabin steward Bilal was great. The entertainment was best ever experienced out of 14 cruises. The itinerary was why this cruise was chosen, Embarked in Singapore to Brunei, Vietnam, Ko Samui, Thailand etc back to Singapore 14 days. Only 2 tenders needed but from ship to Bangkok was a 2 1/2 hour coach trip each way. But did expect this. Would definitely sail on this ship again.

Sailed with the "Conni" earlier... by Thomas4

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Constellation

Sailed with the "Conni" earlier this year and enjoyed every day. Had a concierge class balcony. I'm not sure if the additional cost compared to a standard balcony is worth the higher price. Eventually you get mostly the same experience like in a standard cabin. In that case we absolutely appreciated the reserved restaurant with breakfast service on disembarkation morning. There were plenty of seats in a calm area. Very enjoyable. Nice bathroom with a really big shower. Unfortunately Boracay was cancelled due to windy conditions. Tendering would be to dangerous. Nevertheless we stayed for several hours just waiting and spending useless time. It was very disappointing. I felt really sorry for the philippine staff which was looking forward meeting their families and friends but could not go. By the way, food was great on the buffet and grill. Liked it even more than in the MDR. Really liked the glass elevator with oceanview. Absolutely gorgeous. It was the first time ever on a cruiseship where the poolstaff cleared unused reserved deckchairs. That was amazing. Thanks again:-)

Abu Dhabi to Singapore by MarRich

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We all enjoyed the itinerary. The Constellation is an older ship and, as of our cruise, needs a lot of updating! Saying that, the staff was wonderful, pleasant and quite helpful.

Food, some nights great other mediocre and then other nights, not so good. The Oceanview Cafe had an assortment, as well as the Grill, so there were lots of choices. Again, some food better than others. I have noticed that the desserts have gone WAY DOWN!

Excursions, so so. The ones we took, really the basic ones (overviews & panoramic) were not the greatest. The guides were NOT very good and left people behind as well as, when out of the bus, only talked the the small group of people within earshot!

We are loyal Celebrity cruisers, Elite Plus, but have noticed that the perks for being loyal have definitely gotten less. I guess there are too many of us now!

All in all, we enjoyed ourselves but did want to let people know there were some negatives.

Great way to see Dubai and Abu Dahbi, pass on Oman by betty398

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The time in the ports of Dubai and Abu Dhabi was enough to see the important stops, Grand Mosque is positively a must see and the Burj Khalifa at the top is worth the height!  To caution you, you will spend a lot of time getting between places in Dubai because of heavy traffic, so go the popular sights early! Lots of time spent waiting in traffic.

The Oman stops of Muscat was not worth the stop, all the sights ie Sultans Palace and Forts built by the Portuguese are not open to see inside, you can walk around but you can't see inside.  We took the Hop on Hop off bus 2 hour ride and no really good stops. It did not stop at the beach or near the Grand Mosque. so it takes a cab ride back to both and could be costly.

The Fjords in Khasab Oman was a nice boat ride, saw some dolphins, went to telegraph island, sailed past some very small villages. Bring some good binoculars as you are not allowed to get very close to shore to see.  At telegraph island, they tie up for about 45 minutes and you can get off and snorkel if you want.

After the Dhow cruise we took the shuttle from port into town $10, save your money there is nothing there....we did not get off the bus and went back to the ship

Oh and be careful of the Taxis, get a set price before you get in the cab.  We got stung on one in Dubai at the Port.  We got spoiled in Abu Dhabi they all were metered .

The staff in the Blu were Fantastic!  Wilmer, Novi and Patricia very enjoyable
