Constellation is one of Celebrity's smaller and older ships. Both were an advantage. Superb main dining. Good entertainment in main theater. Constellation has been refurbished, and the refurbishment was well done. This was the best voyage we have ever had on Celebrity.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Quick although a bit confusing, as some port staff re-did what others had already done.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room, San Marco, was excellent. Service, food, and atmosphere were superb. Decided against specialty dining so we could stay in main dining.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Lots of different whirlpool temperatures, so you could have your choice of whirlpools every day the sea was not too windy.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Much better than usual main theater shows and cultural enrichment.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The main dining room, San Marco, was the best experience on our trip. The waiters were both skilled and personable.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Being a smaller ship was a plus, but often the elevators were out of service or stopped on one floor for cleaning and maintenance - - especially the single bank of elevators in the center of the ship. And the elevators were less than 100 percent at the worst times, before and after theater shows, during prime hours of port visit exit and entry, and at mealtimes. Other than the elevators, the ship is a good layout and well kept.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Same size as normal balcony cabin. The very few Concierge differences in service were ones we ended up not using anyway (daily hors d'oeuvres at 3pm, bathrobes that took too much space in the closet, etc.), and for some reason Celebrity's computers never do communicate with room stewards about whether the beds were ordered to be separated into two singles. Celebrity's computer always says we ordered separated; they never are when we embark on ship.
Ship tip
Constellation is a great experience, and a bargain to boot.
