Review summary

I had another cruise booked on Celebrity for next year but as soon as I got home I cancelled it. Too high of a price to pay for budget fare. Princess would be better. Celebrity has cut back services and starting to nickel and dime you.

Embarkation

We were delayed getting on because they had to sanitize the whole ship due to sickness.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Steaks in the MDR where terrible, cheapest piece of meat they could buy, tough to chew. I tried three times. Buffet, some items were so over cooked they were hard and others were cold. Very limited dinner buffet, they want you to do the MDR or Specialty Restaurants. Room Service is now $12 including tip each delivery, no matter what time of day.

Entertainment

Had a wonderful duet in the Cellers Master lounge. Husband and wife playing a cello and viola and they were fantastic.

Children's Programs

Duh, no kids.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Very friendly staff. Did have a little language problem. Sometimes they had a hard time understanding English and sometimes I had a hard time understanding their limited English.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Older ship but for the most part taken care of. Does need to have some work done on her.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
A year ago I had a Deluxe Veranda Stateroom on Princess Cruises and there is difference in size versus the Celebrity Deluxe Veranda Stateroom. This was smaller. Cleanliness was very good. Bed was very hard.

Ship tip

They are the Expensive Budget Cruise Line

Stayed at the port, visiting the pool and the shops.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Ship was parked far from the downtown area where other ships park. Did an excursion and you are packed on tight open air trucks. Okay tour.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

An Okay port. The island is very depressed and run down. Pretty clean compared to other cities. Did a ship excursion in small vans.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Nice city and clean for the most part. Did an excursion over most of the island and was very nice.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
We were parked at the old pier in San Juan. Had an excursion seeing Old and New San Juan and it was very good.

Disembarkation

Pretty good experience, quick and easy with a porter to help.
