Review summary

Nice cruise that blew it for some at the end. Also, need to hire more people to service the people eating in the buffet area.

Candida, Saul, Tapan and Humie are the best. Small portions but you could have seconds. Tasty.

In additional Ketut kept our cabin clean and comfortable.

Hand rails needed work. Tables in the buffet and back area were not always cleared on a timely basis. There were a number of times we cleared them ourselves.

Cabin / Stateroom

We love balcony cabins and spent a good amount of time there. Our cabin was clean and confortable.

Recommend the Tortuguero river cruise. We saw sloths up close, monkeys in the trees and iguanas hiding on the shore.

Cozumel, Mexico

We were one of the few groups that went to Chankanaab. Had no trouble getting a seat under a palapa. Went snorkeling and iguana watching.

Disembarkation

We stationed ourselves with our bags at the exit and got off the ship within 15 minutes of docking 6 hours late due to the port being closed due to fog. We feel like we were the lucky ones. Based on other’s comments, disembarkation for the majority of the passengers was their worst cruise experience of all time. Poorly organized with alot of apologies. Those apologies would not have been necessary if they executed a pre-planned approach to handling a late arrival. This must happen enough that the cruise lines and the specific ship should know what works and what doesn’t. We were lucky as we were waiting to dock to have seats, but many people including those with walkers did not. There is a large room for improvement here.

Appreciate your details. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of the debarkation.

Glad you enjoyed most of it. Staff cutbacks are common on all cruise lines now, and are probably permanent.
