Review summary

A great trip and a wonderful book of memories. We will be back on Celebrity in June 2018 and I'm sure another again soon after that! I enjoy the smaller ships (Summit, Constellation, etc.) but mostly I enjoy Celebrity's cruise culture. Fun, not pretentious and modern.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation in Barcelona was smooth. We were Concierge level so we had a different line to check in however, other family members were in the regular check in line and they went through just as fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room food and service was exceptional. Q'sine is always my favorite and this cruise was no exception. The buffet always had amazing selection.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Used both the pools outside and the solarium. Cleaniness at the Solarium could be better, the floor seemed never to be cleaned. Fitness center was adequate for a cruise ship. Yoga class was a joke however.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Loved the entertainment on this cruise. The comedians and guest entertainment was phenomenal. The singing and dancing troupe was actually talented. Can't say that on many ships.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We loved all the staff that we encountered with few exceptions. Zora at Cafe al Bacio made the best cappuccino ever and always with a smiley face in the foam! Jorgie and Joby in the Dining Room were outstanding and Neves our Room Steward was fantastic!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This ship is old...and tired. The staterooms and bathrooms need some attention. The main areas of course, were recently renovated and you could tell. Simply, new mattresses would even help! But I love this ship and its sister ships' design and layout. We are on the Infinity next June and I would continue to cruise on these ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin is outstanding. Our first aft "sunset" cabin and it won't be our lasts. The deck was immense and we had 6 people comfortably for a drink at sail away. Loved the view and the size of the room. Just needs some love and attention to upgrade the accommodations.

Ship tip

Of course, the aft cabins are the best or the forward cabins (port or starboard side) on Deck 7 just at the bump out over the insignia. Those decks are deeper. Definitely take advantage of the movies outside on the Terrace at aft and enjoy the aft deck bar.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Stayed here for 3 days prior to the cruise. I love Barcelona and return again and again.

Sete (Carcassonne), France

1 out of 5
Didn't know why we stopped here. Walked the village but there is nothing to support a cruise ship full of people.

Toulon, France

5 out of 5
Although we didn't stay in port (we rented a car and headed to Aix-en-Provence). The area is fantastic and this is a great gateway to Provence.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

5 out of 5
Perfect location. Quintessential Cote d'Azur. We did our own excursions by train to Menton, Monaco and Nice then walked back along the coast to port. Long walk but we are active people and the views were outstanding!

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

4 out of 5
The port itself, was just the gateway to Rome for me. And Rome is Rome...it doesn't need any explanation.

Naples, Italy

4 out of 5
Again, didn't stay in Naples. We booked a private excursion through World Tours to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. It was outstanding.

Valletta, Malta

4 out of 5
Malta is interesting. I liked Mdena (did a hop-on-hop-off bus) but I wouldn't stay there for an overnight again.

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
Love Venice. We did our own thing (walking tours and gondola ride) and then headed out of town to Munich.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Probably the easiest and most organized disembarkation I have had in my 15+ cruises.
