Review summary

A very good overall experience. The staff, especially the wait staff and the cabin stewards were extremely friendly and hard-working. The cabin stewards even folded our clothes every day! We would leave the room a bloody mess, and when we returned, it would magically be neat and organized. Likewise, the wait staff in the dining room was friendly and attentive.

On the negative side, most of the information supplied about the ports of call was focused on the Celebrity excursions which they were intent on selling you. It would have been helpful if they would have provided more useful information on the ports of call aside from the focus on the Celebrity excursions.

If I were planning this cruise for Celebrity, I would eliminate the Bodrum and Marmaris ports of call in Turkey, and, instead add more time in Athens. We decided to fly to Athens at the end of the cruise, so as to have more time there.

Also, because of the number of ports on this 12 day cruise, there was very little down time--it was a bit of a grind.

These criticisms aside, all in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend the cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was acceptable, but not great.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Because of the number of ports, there was little time for onboard activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The revue shows were pretty bad. The individual entertainers were surprisingly good.

Children's Programs

N/A

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The stewards and the wait staff were outstanding.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was small but extremely functional--giving us everything we needed.

Ship tip

The outside tables in the aft portion of the ship were the place to be for watching and photographing the sunsets. Also, the place to be in the mornings when the ship docked at the ports of call.

Ports of call

Istanbul, Turkey

5 out of 5

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

5 out of 5
The ruins at Kusadasi are worth the price of the cruise.

Bodrum, Turkey

3 out of 5
A nice seaside town, but this port could be eliminated without missing anything.

Rhodes, Greece

5 out of 5
We went to Lindos which is beautiful. The walled city of Rhodes is also very impressive.

Marmaris, Turkey

3 out of 5
Another nice seaside town, but it could be eliminated from the itenerary.

Santorini, Greece

5 out of 5
A beautiful and magical place.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
What can you say about Athens and the Acropolis. The cruise should spend more time here and eliminate Bodrum and Marmaris.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
We went to Delos which is almost as good as Ephesus.

Souda (Chania), Crete

3 out of 5
Chania is a charming seaside town, but on the wrong side of Crete. Because of time and distance restrictions, a visit to Knossos was not possible for us.
