If you are looking to stay active, Carnival is your cruise line. The Vista has plenty to do. The food and options aren't the best, but is good enough.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth, fast and efficient. We were on the ship in no time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food in the dinning room was the same as what they served at the buffet. No real benefit to eat in the dinning room. Plus you had to pay extra for a third serving when you could just go to the buffet and eat as much as you wanted. The buffet selection wasn't the best. The breakfast buffet they kept running out of French toast. I gave three stars because the side restaurants were great. Guy's burgers, Guy's BBQ and the burrito spots were awesome. The only complaint about them was the limited hours so the lines were long. With that said, they moved threw the lines quickkly.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
You can stay busy. We did the shows, parties, trivia, mini golf, karaoke, and game shows. Of course got a massage and the kids stayed in the splash area. My nephew really enjoyed the kids camp. We enjoyed every activity we did. We even participated in a couple of the shows.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Stage shows was awesome. The performers give their all with a smile on their face. They make contact with the audience and make you feel involved and personal. The main DJ played to the crowed on the dance floor at the night club. Some may complain about this because you will not always like the music, but that's a sign of a good DJ.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
They absolutely loved the kid's club. To the point we didn't have to ask if they wanted to go, they asked us to take them.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Room stewards were on top of keeping the rooms clean. Almost to the point of us still being in the room and they would come to clean it. This was still early in the day. We would leave to get breakfast and come back to our room already completed. The waiters in the dinning room was great. However, we really did not have waiters helping in the buffet area much. This might be a Royal Caribbean thing. The main ship guy, can't remember his name, kept the activities going and exciting. His energy level was ridiculous in a good way. He must drink energy drinks as water.
Ship Quality

Layout was awesome. I gave 4 stars because we had to walk threw the smoking casino to get to a popular venue. Also, Guy's BBQ was kind of hidden. The buffet area had two sections. This caused us to check both areas because sometimes they had different food. Was annoying at times.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The balcony was awesome for standard. The room was very clean and spacious. Only complaint was the bed. My wife side of the bed was lumpy and caused for several bad nights of sleep.
Ship tip
Walk the entire ship and get to know it. Always check both areas of the buffet. Sometimes they have different food. If you are going to the Liquid Lounge, go early if you want good seats. Some of the seats are not the best.
I've taken several cruises and this was the best disembarkation I've experienced. Very fast and efficient. We did not have to stand around in line in a hot tunnel forever.
Good balanced review. They do have most of the same things on the buffet that they do at the Mdr, except on elegant nights, and many of the appetizers are not available. We like the MDR because it gives us an opportunity to dress up every evening and to enjoy comfortable slow conversation rather than just gathering food and compressing the experience to the shortest possible time.
