Review summary

Our family had never been on a cruise before and we were concerned about motion sickness and rumors that we had heard. Not one of us five got sick or had any reaction even when the Atlantic Sea was rough! Because of how great the staff were, how beautiful the scenery was, and how awesome the accommodations were on the Carnival Vista, our family agrees we need to cruise again!! We had such an amazing experience with Carnival, we will definitely cruise with them again!!! Words cannot express the great family vacation we had! THANK YOU CARNIVAL VISTA!!!!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Marty, our cruise director, was very good at keeping us posted on what was happening! He announced the sail away party, and we were there celebrating the excitement form the Upper Deck! Our family immediately felt very welcomed and safe leaving port!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Wow- the food was fantastic!!! The buffets were always open and constantly changing the options which made life of a family of 5 very easy and convenient! The Burger shop, Taco Bar, and Pizza joint had the most amazing plates! Words cannot express the loving and caring atmosphere of the Main Dining Room! We felt so incredibly blessed to be served by Deepak, Benjamin, and Yovana!!! Our entire family was teary-eyed when we had to say farewell- even our teenagers asked if it was normal they were going to miss the team! The live shows and entertainment really got the entire dining room involved as the excitement of the crew was contagious!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We didn't know how we would keep our family of 5 entertained so long on an eight day cruise, but Carnival did an amazing job offering so many different opportunities to keep everyone entertained! Our boys enjoyed the arcade and miniature golf, our daughter was happy there was a fitness center and jogging track, my husband and I enjoyed the time by the pool, and the fact our family could take in a movie at the Imax Theater!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There were so many live entertainment shows (game shows, comedians, reality shows, etc.) that were hilarious and very engaging for all ages! We also really enjoyed the live Steel Drum music by the pool!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our youngest, who is 10, enjoyed the various activities in Club Ocean.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Angel was our very responsive and available room steward! He made the most creative towel animals! By the end of the trip, we had an entire zoo surrounding us! The remaining staff was very friendly and caring. There was always someone readily available to clean up a spill, wipe salsa off the taco bar, or help you with an questions or concerns you had!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We found it very easy to understand the layout of the ship and remember where everything was! It was extremely clean and well-maintained!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We loved the walk-in closet and balcony of the Family Harbor Suite! There was plenty of space for our 10 suitcases and 5 of us!!

Ship tip

If the pool area chairs seem full and unavailable, just wait and a spot will open soon because the staff does an excellent job of managing the chairs!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Port Canaveral was very busy but well organized! The Carnival staff always ensures nobody is left behind- they definitely cross every T and dot every I!

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
Aruba had a very clean building with shopping within and near by. The live dancer and Steel Drums were a special treat! We did a schooner sail and snorkel- the crew on the ship were amazing and fun!

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
Even though Curacao didn't have a building at port, the taxi stands and busses were right there. We did the historic tour, turtle swim, and beach excursion. Our guide stayed with us the entire time and was a native to the island!

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Grand Turk was our absolute favorite port and island!! It had a building at the end of the pier with many strip malls that were super clean and modern! We did a bus tour of the island and ended at the beach right at the port! It was the most beautiful turquoise waters, and we didn't want to leave!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The disembarkation experience was super easy and fast! If you stay informed by the information they place outside your room, you will know exactly what to do and when to do it!
