We had a good time on the cruise. It was our 3rd time on the Vista and we really enjoy the ship. We really enjoyed the ports but didn’t do any excursions in Jamaica or Cozumel. We did go to Hell in Grand Cayman. That was really a fun stop for us.

Embarkation

Even though the ship was delayed in arriving back to port, the staff worked extra hard to quickly get us on board. We were at the buffet by around 11:45 am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The omelette’s were delicious. The only hang up was the length of time it took to get them. Some people ordered two and sometimes three at a time. The Your Time dining room was well ran. We were greeted each night by our servers by name and escorted to our seats. The food was delicious but maybe was a little bland. My favorite dessert was a Rainbow or the Mickey Mouse (pictured). Buffets for lunch had a good variety of food and the Desserts were excellent each day.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We love trivia and the Havana area. We enjoy the different categories of the trivia and enjoy meeting new people to team up with. The Havana area was well kept and the hot tubs and pools were relatively quiet areas to relax and unwind.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the Playlist Production shows. American Rocks was canceled and the Comedians were moved into the Liquid Lounge. Never found out why this occurred. They had a cowboy act on one of the nights. He was very skilled in what he did but not sure a lot of folks were very entertained.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room stewards, I Made( pronounced Maud a) and Thiri did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Our servers, Robert, Dewa, and Erricson, were very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed them. They knew what we wanted for our dinner set up every night and they had things waiting for us when we arrived. We really enjoyed meeting them.

Cabin / Stateroom

Enjoyed the bigger deck and chair swing. The room was the same size as most balcony rooms.

Ship tip

The Havana area is located at the back of the ship but is close to most of the activities on board. I would recommend booking a room in this area.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Went to Hell. It was a very fascinating place to see. The Devil’s Hangout is definitely a place to see. The workers are amazing. A great way to get there was the public bus. They run all day and were there within 2-5 minutes upon us arriving at the stops. The best part was the price. $2.50 per person each way. A great way to get around the island.

Cozumel, Mexico

Just shopped in port.

Falmouth, Jamaica

Didn’t do much here except shop in the port.

Galveston, Texas

It was 40 degrees when we embarked and foggy when we returned. Obviously not Galveston’s fault, lol. Just not the best of weather to start or finish a cruise.
