Review summary

Overall I would was 6/10. It’s great for families. It’s budget friendly. I would say carnival is the Holliday inn of cruises. Nothing extravagant but it’s clean, nice, budget friendly, family oriented, good food, and friendly service. Not the shop for luxury though. Keep that in mind.

Embarkation

It’s was nice. All I’m all took about 1.5 hours. I had all my paperwork done in advance too. Could be quicker.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was pretty good for being a cruise ship. I would say 7/10 on food taste and quality.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pools are too small and everyone is in them. They turn cloudy and green after a couple days. The night time shows are entertaining, I wish there was a way to reserve for better seating. If you pick the late dinner, it will be tough to get good seats to any of the shows.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were nice and entertaining. Just hard to get a decent seat.

Children's Programs

No children.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
They were nice. I did have an issue. I had set my room to be cleaned at 2 and the first two days it wasn’t cleaned until after 6pm and that’s what I had to clean 5 times to get it done and we’ll after that, they went and started cleaning it at 12pm. The lack of communication was definitely disappointing.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Layout and design could be better. I like royal Caribbean open layout much better. Doesn’t seem so stuffy. Everything was clean and maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The comfort was nice and it was a good size. It wasn’t very clean. I found hair in drawers there and mentioned it to the steward and they said they would fix it and they never did.

Ship tip

Great for families. Don’t get any spa services done until the last day and go to the spa events for lower pricing.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

It’s Galveston lol. Kinda dirty. Somewhat organized.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Do the best of Roatan tour. It’s budget friendly and you get to get a good feel for the island.

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
Belize is nice. We chose to not do an excursion and it was a great idea. Just walk out to the cabs and negotiate a great deal with them. We had a city tour and visited the beach for $45 per person. When I got there to the beach, upon talking to others. They had paid $200 per person for the same experience through Carnival. Belize is beautiful and the people are friendly. Ask for Gregory the driver and your guide when you step out to the taxi areas. He’ll take great care of you:)

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was my favorite one. The city is clean the beaches are incredible. Absolutely gorgeous. We chose to do a taxi tour here too and saved another $200 and it was better. For $120 the 2 of us had a person chauffeur. It was nice.

Disembarkation

Took way too long. You don’t have to be out of your room until. 8:30 but you will wait until about 10-10:30 to get off and won’t be fully off until around 11.
