Two families booked a cruise in October of 2019 for July of 2020…we finally made it in on the ship in July 2022…exactly 1001 days after we originally booked!! Not much was going to bring us down. We dreamed of Thirsty Frog Reds and Guy’s burgers and filets and lobster tails on formal nights. We were definitely not disappointed. Nobody wanted it to end. We have already booked another short 4 day cruise (no testing required!!!!) on the Breeze in November. There were definitely some aspects of cruising that have changed but the essence of cruising is still there!!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Was smooth and fast. Got through check-in quickly and efficiently. We had to wait about 20 minutes to actually board the ship but extremely happy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate in the dining room 5 out of the 7 nights. For the most part it was quick, especially checking in via the app. Fast and friendly service with above average food.
Redfrog Pub and Brewery
5 out of 5
We spent quite a bit of time here. Johnny was fantastic. The brewery tour was well worth the money.
Guy's Burger Joint
5 out of 5
Not sure I can do these burgers justice. They tasted just how I remembered and if you’ve had one before then you know exactly what I’m talking about!!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Not much to say here. We did the sky coaster, which is harder than it looks. Checked that off the list. We didn’t spend much time outside. My teenage daughter loved everything about the outside.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Went to a few comedy shows. Some were good and some were, meh. I’m not much of productions shows in the huge lounge kind of a guy but I did go see the Vista rock band and (I hate to admit) I enjoyed myself.
We (the 4 adults in the group) did not spend much time on the lido deck or in da club but the 3 teenagers in the group raves about the DJs and other things like that.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Teenagers enjoyed being part of the Circle C club. They made a few friends and have been texting and staying in touch even after the cruise was over!!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Multiple room stewards knew us by first name. We were quite impressed that not did our own room steward know our name but others did too. I didn’t have many “negatives” on this trip but I did have one on the last night at the dining room. It was busy and crowded and everything was just slower than any other night. Our service wasn’t great that one particular night but overall it was fantastic.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Nothing obvious that we saw but I wasn’t looking for it either.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Deluxe Oceanview cabin was awesome. Two bathrooms was a definite plus but I wish the second smaller bathroom had another toilet instead of another shower but that’s a small thing.
Ship tip
The Vista layout is a little confusing. More confusing than I remember the Breeze or Triumph being. Finally, on Thursday we had it figured out just in time to go home…LOL
Again, the day was just not long enough. This isn’t my favorite port anyways but it’s a beautiful place and I’d definitely like to fly there and spend some time there, but as a cruise port…not a fan.
BEST disembarkation EVER!!! We were very confused on how it was going to work because there was so much bad press lately about getting off the ship. We were in the car and on the road at exactly 8:15. No waiting in the customs lines.
I’m glad you enjoyed your long awaited and much anticipated cruise. We had a similar on our May cruise on the Magic. Yes it’s great to be back cruising again. Thank you for taking the time to share your review.
