Review summary

Great 7 day cruise for a first timer or just a get away trip.

Embarkation

The embarking process at the Galveston port is not near as efficient as I have experienced in New Orleans.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The ship seemed in excellent shape,, the dining rooms were updated, the buffets were nice and clean. The public areas were kept clean and the staff were always cleaning and wiping things down so I felt a good safety factor there.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were unfortunately always filled with so many kids we really did not have access to use them. The serenity adult floor was nice but only had hot tubs. My last cruise on the Vista we purchased the spa package and did as well this time. We enjoyed our time but were highly disappointed that the adult indoor salt pool had been removed and only a small hot tub type pool in the room.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The entertainment was great on the ship and our cruise director Kyndall Fire was a ton of fun and so friendly

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward JoeMar was wonderful nd kept our room clean and tidy. We never came back to a mess or our room not cleaned. The entire cleaning staff in our hall were friendly and always had a smile! The wait staff at the buffets and bars were very friendly and helpful, always had smile and willing to help. We sat in one area a couple of times by chance and were served by Kukah and he was amazing! He made our dining experience fun and he remembered us the moment we saw him the second time! Kyndall Fire, the cruise director was so kind, spoke anytime she walked by and engaged with everyone she came in contact with.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship design and cleanliness were both good. This was my first cruise post COVID and I felt very safe. My husband has a compromised health system and I felt good enough I would be comfortable for him to start cruising again as well

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was very clean, always stocked and plenty of room for two. The only issue I noticed was our sink drained slow but otherwise very good. My only complaint is not being able to use a blow dryer in the bathroom is a pain.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the spa package if you can and the Serenity Adult floor on 15

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

I have been here before and was hoping there may be a few more changes of things to do but there really was not so it was a little boring for us.

Belize City, Belize

We did an excursion of zip lining and cave tuning, with lunch and it was so much fun! The only issue with this port is the ferry boats to get back to the main ship are not organized very well, at all, and I wish there were more of them working at the time it is closer to return to the ship. The line was HUGE! My husband has some mobility issues so this would not be a port I would take him to again I do not think because of the chaos.

Cozumel, Mexico

Lots of fun shopping and looking around. We did a cooking excursion with Tabasco that was amazingly fun and we would do it again! It included transportation and the driver dropped us off at the wrong location but lucky a woman was able to help steer us to the right place a block or so away. I have been to this stop before and would have enjoyed more time here.

Disembarkation

The disembark we decided to take our own luggage hoping it was less chaotic then when we boarded and it was slightly better than getting on.
