Review summary

Overall I had fun I just wish casino was either non smoking or had doors to separate smoke from other parts of the ship. I also wish dining experience didn't decline.

Embarkation

Giant rat maze of back and fourth... Plus a mystery corkscrew in mother's carry on that she didn't pack and was never found... They saw it on x ray but after ransacking purse they didn't find one.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Mdr was pretty and food was good. However service got worse each day on.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

Very good but often long lines.

Pizzeria Del Capitano

1 out of 5

Worst pizza ever. Not enough sauce, base too thin, not enough toppings.

Lido Marketplace

4 out of 5

Buffet was good but some of the stuff wasn't always very fresh.

Guy's Pig & Anchor

1 out of 5

Worst bbq I have ever had. Most of the stuff was dry like it was sitting out for a while.

Guy's Burger Joint

4 out of 5

Very good burgers, just wish there were more toppings and lines not so long

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lot of stuff is restricted weight limits. Not very fun for us fluffy cruisers. I didn't do the imax or thrill theater. Too expensive.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I enjoyed most of the live shows.... Polka dot polka dot afro circus! Short of the main shows I didn't attend the other stuff.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff were usually pretty friendly. After first day I don't think we ever saw room steward again.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Pretty easily navigated however I really don't like that the casino allows smoking and has no doors while being connected to the main lobby / atrium.... You know where guest service and excursion desk is. All the smoke just flooded into there burning my eyes. After day 1 I avoided that area.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was great. We got a Cove balcony stateroom. This put us close to the water and if ship went down, I dare you to try to stop me from jumping in a life boat.... No jack from titanic here haha. My only 3 complaints: Chair for desk.... Awful. Couch, hard as a rock I had a 3rd one but I just forgot it. Guess it wasn't important enough.

Ship tip

Have money to spend and be a reasonable weight because most of the stuff on the ship has weight limits and or costs xtra (imax, thrill theater, sky ride, etc)

Ports of call

Belize City, Belize

Nothing to do here besides your tourist trap port stuff. Excursions are expensive as well. I walked to a local grocery store to buy more soda. That was interesting. Grocery stores are pretty different outside the usa. On the way back a guy tried to get us to eat at his restaurant but all he had was American food like pizza, burgers and wings... Stuff I can have at home. After explaining we wanted to try local cuisine he directed us to a place called ms Pattys. Since we had the lost look he walked us over and hooked us up with owner, Ms pstty. Had a huge Styrofoam container of rice and beans with chicken and plantain... About $7 plus fresh pressed watermelon juice. That was a good experience but only good thing and I fear her business is going to feel the hurt as they're building a man made island port for cruises to dock and only way to taxi will be by tinder boat but it'll cost extra. Nobody is going to want to do that.

Galveston, Texas

Nothing really special to say. I don't recommend the beaches here and in the summer watch out for sand flys. They bite and it hurts a lot.

Cozumel, Mexico

I love this port. Lots of awesome shopping and sooooo much to do. Plus it's very well designed / decorated. I did the snorkeling, tequila tasting and guacamole making demonstration. Bought 2 bottles of tequila and recorded the guacamole and have made it at home 3x now.... Sooooo good. Secret ingredient is tequila.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

This place was pretty awesome. I did the sloth, monkey, iguana excursion..... I soooo want to adopt a sloth now haha. I wanted to eat iguana (not the ones on excursion, those are protected, they eat wild ones) but cab to a restaurant serving it wanted like $60! Also purchased the magic chair ride. That was nice. Saw a wild iguana in the trees.

Should have been off the ship by 8:30-9am... Didn't get off until 11:15. They were about to start serving lunch when we finally got called. Luckily we drove our own vehicle and were not in a hurry. Those who had early flights.... I'm sure it was a bad day. No idea what went wrong. We got to the port right around 8am but didn't get cleared until like 10am. Except for the fact we had to be out of room by a certain time I feel like I could have slept in. I wonder how the delay effected boarding and dept times as well as rest of the schedule for next sailing?
