Review summary

We met the most amazing people in the Havana private pool area that will remain friends forever. This made our experience on the ship amazing even with all the mechanical issues of the ship and cancelling of the best port. Carnival does need to step up and fix this issue with the Vista or they may lose some loyal customers!

Embarkation

A little wait, but could have been much worse, VeriFly did make the process for Covid protocols very efficient!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I still enjoy dinners more on RCCL but Daytime options better on Carnival…drinks were good, but somehow sober ran into 15 drink limit a couple times…these were my get up early and stay up late days. I have never hit a limit before this cruise.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did a waterslide which was fun, but missed the cycling rail BC it was never open when we were there. Looked like fun though

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Comedians were great! Didn’t see a production show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Outstanding! So many people to list, but they made us feel very special!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I love the Havana option! I saw quite a bit of cleaning happening but also saw stairs carpet quite dirty. The ship seemed overall hot and we didn’t like people walking through buffet area in swimsuits..this is really a design issue, as it was tempting rather than going up and over, then down.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This Havana room was amazing and worth the extra, only complaint is the closet, 2 people couldn’t access at the same time without crawling across the bed and far right closet wouldn’t open all the way BC of nightstand. We managed though.

Ship tip

Put your patience hat on getting on and off the ahip at all times.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

1 out of 5
They skipped this port, not sure real reason, rumor was different than what we were told.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Always love Cozumel, but again hours restricted time because they gave time earlier to leave earlier, most places had to open early to accommodate but you didn’t know until it was too late, had to be back on board 2:30

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5

Montego Bay, Jamaica

2 out of 5
Port times extended but technically cut short because of hours, not too many want to be in Jamaica at 8pm vs daytime

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Not sure what was the holdup, but it was pretty bad, took a very long time, and even had someone come through getting on from same door we were leaving through!
