Review summary

It was not fun. The mechanical problem caused us to lose a port stop to the Cayman Island. It caused us to be an extra 2 days on the ship because it was slow moving. The port in Jamaica got severely overwhelmed due to all the excursions getting pushed into one. We were on a time restraint so Jamaica and Cozumel got cut short. We could smell the fumes in around the elevators which 1/2 the time didn't work. The A/C was not at full capacity of cooling. The hours of breakfast was late at 7a.m and lunch at 12. need be earlier hours. The staff and crew were great, the food was good and the casino was nice. Paying over $2k for a nice vacation but being deceived by Carnival running a ship with known problems was not putting the safety and potential health hazards of the people first. It's about the money. WE will never do this particular cruise again. We would love to go the Cayman Island which is why we chose this itinerary. There were 4k people on this cruise and I know 80% were very upset about the whole thing.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ships design is choppy and confusing. The ship was kept clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was nice and the window view was good. The A/C was only cool and not cold. It got hot at night due to the mechanical problems they only had one engine running.

Ship tip

Don't do it. They know they have a mechanical problem and won't fix it.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Jamaica was terrible. It's a nasty, dirty country. We will never go back. The trip was cut short due to the ships mechanical problem. Excursion was a long, muddy drive. Cayman Island got cancelled because the ship was moving too slow. They picked up a mechanic but the ship is still not fixed and the people in Galveston do know they are fixing to get on a broken ship. Cozumel got cut short due to problems. They just ruined everything. Smelling the fuel / fumes from the engine was bad. Heavy black smoke coming out, we have pictures. Worst cruise we ever did and I want compensation for it.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Port was unorganized. Driving is super scary. Very muddy due to the rain so the buses were getting stuck in the mud. We were thrown in with other people's excursions. It was a huge mess because the ship was 2-3 hours LATE getting in. The excursions got cut short due to time restraints.

George Town, Grand Cayman Did not visit port

The ship is having MAJOR engine problems and was way behind on time. It got cancelled

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We enjoyed Cozumel, but again.......due to time restraints we got cut short

Disembarkation

It was slow, croweded. We got in late. Had to stand in the sun with no shade for over an hour waiting on the parking lot ride
