Loved this entire cruise. First one post Covid. Booked another one as soon as we got off. Going in October 2021. Gotta catch up for missed cruises last year.
Embarkation

Typical Galveston Embarkation. Long lines, close quarters and everyone checking in early.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

We tried to eat at as many places as possible. Only place we didn’t make it to was Lido, sushi and pasta. We enjoyed so many great meals.
Guy's Pig & Anchor
5 out of 5
Found this outside one afternoon while exploring. Quick and easy lunch. Loved watching the waves as we ate. Remember to bring a drink with you. I never found a drink station nearby, they did have servers coming through but it took a little while for the drink to make it back.
Seafood Shack

Had some wonderful clam strips and a lobster roll on embarkation day. Way more clam strips than 1 person could ever eat in 1 setting.
JiJi Asian Kitchen

Ate lunch up here one day. Quick service and tasted wonderful.
Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

Loved everything from the atmosphere to the food. The onion soup as an appetizer came in a huge crock, it was amazing. Could have been my entire meal. The filet was cooked perfect and had a fruit bowl for dessert.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The bar staff were wonderful throughout the ship. Waitstaff in both restaurants had wonderful service. We switched from early dining to YTD due to location to room. Loved Boydex and his assistants.
Ship Quality

If you stood up from a seat or table area, someone was cleaning it right behind you. Cleaning the handrails going down the stairs all the time. I’ve never seen more attention to cleanliness than we did on this cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the extended aft balcony. Nothing better than that wake view. Our balcony was much deeper AND wider than a typical balcony.
Ship tip
If you have limited mobility, know that assigned time dining is forward and YTD is aft. We changed after the first couple of nights as is was to far for my husband to go back and forth changing clothes for dinner and then afterwards into comfortable evening clothes.
Not one of my favorite ports. Didn’t do an excursion here. Visited a bar in port. Ate some garnachos (they were good) and drank a couple of drinks before heading back to the ship. Did some souvenir shopping. Walk through terminal 4 to the outside vendors and had some wonderful craftsmen displaying/selling their crafts.
Did a Sloth, Macaw, Monkey tour. Also stopped at a market and our tour guide was kind enough to stop at a local hangout so a couple of people on the excursion could get some authentic food. Tour guide was great. Knew a lot of information.
Taxied downtown, did some tequila testing and shopping. Then back to port for Fat Tuesday’s before heading back to the ship. That pier never gets any shorter. We did use the little bike guys to give us a lift each way. Definitely worth it.
Breeze was also in port so way to many people coming and going in 1 small location. My husband required wheelchair assistance and there weren’t enough people so we had to wait well past our muster station being called to get off the ship. When we got off it was hard to find a porter to assist. they were already embarking the next passengers. When I brought the vehicle to pick up my husband and luggage they were trying to force me to go to different area than where I needed to pick up. I understand traffic flow, but if I’m telling you there is a handicapped person sitting at J with luggage don’t try and send me to B to pick him up. He was where the assistance people left him. Communication would help a lot here.
Thanks for your review. I’m glad you had a good time despite the disembarkation issues. I empathize with that closely having a brother-in-law that also requires a wheelchair and has had similar issues.
I appreciate reading reviews from different perspectives, in this case someone with limited mobility. Unfortunate about the disembarkation issues, but overall it looks like you had a great cruise.
