I can honestly tell you there is no way we will ever go on a Carnival cruise again. The product is sub-par, the food is just so-so (even Guys Burger Joint got old quickly). Spend a bit more (probably) and go with one of the other cruise lines!

This ship (Vista) has possibly the WORST physical layout relative to food I have ever experienced - couple that with the fact that the food, especially the buffet, was NEVER hot, and well, you get the picture - if you are a foodie, heck even if you just want to eat a hot meal, don't go!!!!

Vista had the smallest "pool" in the spa area. Decent fitness center but the cruise director felt almost non-existent. His name was Schwartz

The room was nice - when we arrived, the balcony and chairs were covered in salt - realized on our return to final port why - Bad weather in the gulf. The room cleaning staff had it all cleaned up by day 2
Ship tip
My advise for sailing in the Carnival Vista - just don't! Pick NCL or RC
Had to take a boat to port - the boat ride was the best part of this stop....if you are not doing an excursion, stay on the ship and enjoy the peace and quiet
This port was actually very nice, the walk to the shopping area was pretty and the shopping experience was good - at least they had some local artisan shops.
I have never been on the vista but I have been on the breeze and the valor the breeze was a good ship like anything it had its problems but would sail on it again the valor was bad and would not sail on it again but I guess what I am saying is that If you look hard enough you will find things I have also sailed with Royal Caribbean and it has its problems to so your on vacation enjoy your self and look for the good ps I will be sailing on the vista in May
I went on the Vista and loved it!!! It was a beautiful ship. I can’t compare Carnival with other cruise lines since I have only cruise on Carnival. But cruises are like cars hit or miss. You can take the same ship again and get a totally different experience. Ijs
My wife and I was on the Vista last March and scheduled to cruise her again in 25 days. We loved the cruise and didn't experience any of the problems you mentioned. The food problem you mentioned can be on any ship, even your expensive one. As someone mentioned above, it's your vacation. If you go looking for problems you will find them, it's amazing how 2 different people on the same cruise experience is totally different.
My wife and I was on this cruise. It wasn’t the best cruise but it wasn’t the worst. The vista isn’t are favorite but we booked a 3rd cruise on it. Still had a lot of fun. Lots of negative people on this cruise. Guess you were one of them. Just remember folks it’s vacation you make it what it is.
I'm really suprised to hear that. I mean I've been on ships where the bar was low and other more expensive where the bar was raised (i.e. disney cruiseline). But I always thought as far as carnival cruise was concerned (yes it's the Walmart of cruise lines). But I always felt you get what you pay for and it's a great bang for your buck.
