Review summary

I can honestly tell you there is no way we will ever go on a Carnival cruise again. The product is sub-par, the food is just so-so (even Guys Burger Joint got old quickly). Spend a bit more (probably) and go with one of the other cruise lines!

The process was very easy and we were on board the ship much quicker than expected

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
This ship (Vista) has possibly the WORST physical layout relative to food I have ever experienced - couple that with the fact that the food, especially the buffet, was NEVER hot, and well, you get the picture - if you are a foodie, heck even if you just want to eat a hot meal, don't go!!!!

Onboard Activities

Vista had the smallest "pool" in the spa area. Decent fitness center but the cruise director felt almost non-existent. His name was Schwartz

Didn't go to any of the shows - reviews from others were poor at best

Children's Programs

no kids taken on cruise

Service and Staff

It was just OK - nothing special - nice towel animals

Ship Quality

The ship was well maintained and clean but the layout is horrible

Cabin / Stateroom

The room was nice - when we arrived, the balcony and chairs were covered in salt - realized on our return to final port why - Bad weather in the gulf. The room cleaning staff had it all cleaned up by day 2

Ship tip

My advise for sailing in the Carnival Vista - just don't! Pick NCL or RC

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

This is just the typical cruise port - nothing special

Belize City, Belize

Had to take a boat to port - the boat ride was the best part of this stop....if you are not doing an excursion, stay on the ship and enjoy the peace and quiet

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

This port was actually very nice, the walk to the shopping area was pretty and the shopping experience was good - at least they had some local artisan shops.
