The Havana area and the food were definitely the deal breakers for me. The food was excellent and the Havana area sucked me into staying there most of the day. Rest of the ship was packed but still had a great time. The lounge chairs go fast.
Embarkation

Long lines, longer than any royal Caribbean lines I’ve had. Even with on time arrival, it seemed slower than usual. This could be with the added health checks??
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I would give this five stars but I felt the options on the buffet was lacking. Everything I had on the ship tasted good if not great.
Onboard Activities

Main pools/ hot tubs were packed with mainly kids. The shows I felt were also laking something different. Lots of music on the ship which is great, but need more variety. I would say they have more things geared towards family and kids than adults. Not a bad thing, but I think it’s overloading on the family and kids more than necessary.
Entertainment

Need variety. Cruise director was excellent though. Dj was also very good.
Service and Staff

Everyone was responsive and communicated well. I had one bad incident in the steak house but other than that they were pretty fantastic
Ship Quality

Most people complain, I actually didn’t mind the layout. It took a day or two to get adjusted but that’s how most ships are of this size. Everything was modern and love the direction carnival is going with these ships. I actually liked it more than royal. I’d say where I dock it is where the limelight lounge is and the main theatre. Just weird design choices and spaces that weren’t large enough for that many passengers.
Cabin / Stateroom

Havana is unbeatable for the price. I can’t say enough how much value it is. It’s honestly the gem in carnivals playbook. DONT SCREW IT UP CARNIVAL!!!!
Ship tip
If you don’t have kids, book Havana. It’ll change cruising forever for you. If you have kids, your kids will never be bored on the rest of the ship.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds like the Havana cabins are the best for young (or young at heart) adults. Carnival does bill it’s ships for families. The Vista evidentially lives up to that. Glad you enjoyed your cruise!🛳
