Review summary

We had a great time, with a few hiccups. Know the ship beforehand! Know what to expect with certain things, i.e. the entertainment staff and pizza, bummer.

We had priority due to booking a Family Harbor suite. This made the embarkation process a breeze.

Food and Dining

We love eating in the dining room (we were in Horizons dur to a party change). The food was great for the most part and our waitstaff was wonderful. The buffet was great as well as the omelet and sandwich stations we good also. The guys making the pizzas didn't seem enthusiastic at all about their jobs. There was always a long line, but not because the quality was so amazing...they just had one person out making pies every time we went there and they were not fast. The addition of delivery of pizza didn't seem to help either.

Onboard Activities

The pools were due for cleaning and the hot tubs are fewer than we realized, so they were always packed full. Our kids thought the Sky Course was good, but were not able to go on the Sky ride due to restrictions.

Entertainment

All the standard things are available. That being said, we didn't go and stay at any shows due to the quality of the performances was lacking. We had seen poor reviews stating this prior to choosing this ship, it is still an issue. The comedy acts were great though.

Both of our children enjoyed the staff at the respective age groups areas.

Our steward and waitstaff were fabulous! Thank you I Made, Raul, and Sasipah for making every night in the dining room special! Adi, you are a stealth ninja!

Ship Quality

This ship has a terrible design! Do plenty of research on how to get around before you go! If you plan to choose a Family Harbor room, know that the kitchen and prep area for the main dining rooms are right above you and you will have trouble getting rest! Everything was well maintained and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

We loved the cabin, hated how hot it was and how loud it was all night long! The kitchen/prep area is right above it and they work loudly, ALL NIGHT LONG! Our steward, Adi, was great and a real ninja!

Really research this ship and understand how to get from point a to b!

We love the ambiance of Galveston. Try the Gumbo Diner! Don't count out the older motels, they've been there for a long time for a reason.

We love the snorkeling here! We did an excursion with First Lady Sport Fishing Cozumel, well worth the money! Great crew and an amazing time. They also made us fresh guacamole and ceviche, on the boat and it was amazing!

What a beautiful place! The people here are great! We definitely plan to return to this port! We did the Mystic Mountain lift excursion through Carnival and loved it!

If it's not to nosy of me, can I ask what restricted you from the sky ride? I know there is always such a long line. I would hate 2 wait over an hour and be turned away. I know there is a wt restriction and must wear closed toed shoes. Are there other restrictions? Also do they have a good selection of games in the family harbor lounge?

Thanks for sharing your experience! We always try to get a cabin with cabins above and cabins below to avoid major noise. It isn’t a guarantee ( some people can be noisy) but it helps.
