I’ve been on many cruises. The MDR food was great. Bonsai sushi, the nigiri has a terrible fishy smell. Didn’t get sick but it wasn’t pleasant. The steakhouse was a major let down. Service was terrible. They continued to rush us. Steak had no flavor. Chefs Table was absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend the experience. It was worth the money for my wife and I.

Pizza is always great but very slow. They only had one person working most of the time. Lines were huge.

Water slides and kids splash area were great. Pools over crowded as always. Water is jerky by the end of the day suggesting it became a giant pool of half saltwater and half urine.

We really enjoyed the love and marriage show and the rock show. Flick was hilarious because it was so bad.

Children's Programs

They seemed fun. Our 12, 10, and 3 year olds chose not to participate. They are pretty shy. I loved the kids programs when I was a kid on cruises.

Service and Staff

I have been on plenty of cruises. There were a few friendly staff. Our room steward was horrible. Did a horrible job cleaning the room. Wouldn’t even wipe the counters. Hardly saw him and when we did, he wasn’t very friendly. Guest services was terrible. Very rude. Waitstaff was overworked and took forever to get our food. This was made worse by the silly shows they do during dinner. Can’t stand them. I’m there to eat and talk with my family. Not have some music blasting and people dancing like I’m at some b grade dance show. Chefs tables staff was over the top awesome. I have to say I expected this considering it was $100 for each of us.

Ship Quality

Ship was very clean. Design, terrible. The tile in the buffet might as well have been an ice rink, very slippery. Ship had numerous hot spots. It was like they reduced the ac to reduce fuel consumption in the generators. I thought about starting a collection to give them to turn the ac down and cover the additional fuel costs. Lastly, I missed the big atrium. But this seems to be the way of the future. Vistas atrium felt cheesy and plain.

Cabin / Stateroom

Family harbor connecting interior rooms. Small which is to be expected. Tv was great, lots of free on demand movies. Lounge was awesome. It was nice to have snacks and breakfast close by. We would go and stock up on milk and cookies to have in our room for later. We had cabins 2469 and 2473.

Ship tip

Good time but I definitely prefer other ships. I have decided to stick with royal in the future due to better ships and service. But nonetheless it’s a cruise and a nice ship, your going to have a great time!
