Great vacation in all, but would not recommend the Vista to others. We would sail on the vista only if no other boat were available in the close ports.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
All areas of the ship were similar to other ships we have cruised in the pass, however the Reflection MDR was quite small and only a single story in height. We felt like we were dining in a fancy Luby’s. The food was as good as it always has been, the side to the entrees were quite small, ramekin size at best... a little disappointing. The selection of entree was again reduced from years past, several favorites were a “No Show” on the menus. Would enjoy some of the previous menus revisited and new meal plans revised to reflect some of the old items which have been removed.

Service and Staff

Our wait staff in the reflection MDR was adequate at best. The head waiter “Edward” showed little involvement until the last two dinners, However, Rowel was very friendly and helpful. Our grandson’s birthday has been during our last cruise and this one as well. The past cruise was wonderful and our dining room staff was incredible with service and their interaction with our grand child. They made his and our trip so very memorable we still remember they’re names, Kimchi, Roberto, and Ju ling. All my two year grandson son really remembers of his first cruise was “Kimchi” (the tall one). His memory of Kimchi was so well ingrained that he asked if Kimchi would be on the ship ‘‘this time too...and to our surprise, he was. When he saw us he remembered us by name, especially our grandson. That’s the impression he made on us and we made on him. But, this crew was not as pleasing, with exception of “Rowel”. Wish they could all be as pleasant.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Cleanliness was good, always is, however the way the ship was designed seemed to me as “lacking”. The floor layout and design was not as good as other ships we’ve sailed on. Small main theater, poor placement of restrooms, one dining room smaller than the other, having to go up stairs and back the other side to get to Arcade and Circle C areas, plus several other decorating issues throughout. The loss of what we proudly called the “Wonk-evaders” (glass elevators) with the open atrium, sadly missed. It was a fun ride up or down people watching and it didn’t leave dead-end hallways.

Ship tip
Don’t, you might be disappointed as we were. It didn’t ruin the trip, but didn’t help either.
Port was fine, always a long line inside the port terminal for excursions. He went on the Hard-rock resort excursion.
The water was beautiful, but the jellyfish made it impossible to enjoy, especially when our two year old grandchild was with us. There were several individuals stung by the jellyfish while we were there. Couldn’t swim in the water so we had to use the pool....not the same for us. But last but not least, while enjoying our jellyfish infested beach time, some one stole $100.00 from.my daughters purse...didn’t find out until she went to by something in the port shopping area and her money was gone. My wife saw a worker moving things where we sat, but thought she was picking up trash, but thought it was odd anyway. Can’t say it was the worker in fact, but several other people reported items missing once they got back on board.
We still prefer the magic but really enjoyed the vista as well. Like some changes and dislike others. The vista is very nice and has the same great staff as other ships. Been on her twice and wuld certainly go again
