This was a family cruise to celebrate our 40th anniversary and I was not disappointed in anything, except maybe the price since I paid for all of it. My wife and I cannot wait to go on our next cruise which we hope will be in early 2020.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation was very smooth and fast. Very different from the last time we cruised.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
There was not a meal I did not enjoy. Every plate was completely finished, except where I got a little too much food. The menu was varied and the restaurants JiJi and Bonsai were fantastic.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The pools were a bit crowded at times but that is expected. The wait staff was around to take drink orders and staff kept the areas clean of debris (finished drinks and food) and water on the deck.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Went to one of the shows and it was incredible. Had a really neat stage effect of a very large scarf kept in the air by perfectly positioned fans while the singer sang and moved around under it.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
From what my daughter told me the grandkids had a blast. Even my granddaughter enjoyed it (after several days of avoiding it). She finally went on the 4th day and came back to the room asking for more money to play arcade with her new friends.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room steward was very helpful through out the trip. Our waiter kept us entertained and made food suggestions.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship starting to show a little wear but is very clean and well maintained. Unlike other cruises I did not see debris anywhere. They picked up everything passengers finished and put down. The ship lay out is different from the other cruise ships as the atrium only goes up three floors and does not have elevators. Looks cleaner and allowed Carnival to add more rooms.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a cabin on the 9th deck at the front with a window which was nice to look out. The size was nice and was kept very clean all the time. The bed was a bit too hard for my wife but fine for me.
Went to French Key as we were there the last time and wanted to go back. Not sure but we think we got bit by sand fleas there. Otherwise it was a great site. A lot of improvements since the last time.
The whole went on an excursion and was a lot of fun. My wife and I went back to Belize City after the excursion along with my daughter and her husband to Three Amigos. Had a blast there.
We have been to Cozumel several times and this time we went to an all inclusive called Chankanaab. Got to see a sea lion show, take a tequila tour and have a great lunch (with drinks, lots of drinks).
Glad y’all had a great cruise and happy anniversary! We’re a family of 6 and will be bringing an extra on our next cruise so I know how you feel! 😂 But we enjoy being with all our kids because 3 of the 4 are grown and gone so we treasure our time together.
