Review summary

Overall I would say the Vista was alright. It was not the typical amazing service that I have received from Carnival cruises. It took 5 different servers to get a good one on the MDR. Long lines everywhere. Elevators took forever ended up taking the stairs most of the time. Alchemy bar and red frog pub were great! Layout was different but I got used to it. It is a very modern ship so didn’t have the grand feeling of many other class ships. Sushi was great, Mongolian grill for lunch was good but ridiculous wait and service again was lacking. Hot in many areas of the shop and the smoking smell was awful from the casino. I loved the amount of seating along the windows and outside area. Plenty of room to relax. IMAX and thrill theater were a neat addition and standard prices. Overall I would probably not sail on the Vista again due to the service and food was subpar.

We enjoyed our cabin on the 6th floor. Room was cool and great balcony of younger children as you have the deck below. Didn’t hear a lot of noise even though the Red Frog Pub was right below.

Ship tip

Be prepared for the layout as you can’t walk straight across on many floors. Slow elevators

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Went to the public beach. Used the “flying chair” which was nice. Water was not very nice and looked like a Galveston beach. Be careful with those that can’t swim as quick drop off and then have to swim or float to shallow end again. Service was good but typical American good fair on the menu.

Cozumel, Mexico

Booked the catamaran, snorkel and beach combo which was great. Perfect introduction to snorkeling and beach had water activities to use. Picked up and dropped off at port with plenty of Time to shop still. Water was amazing!

Belize City, Belize

Tender point. Did not book an excursion here as had younger children. Typical shopping port with stores and restaurants.

I was on the Vista for 14 days did Mahogany bay Belize and Cozamel then Jamacia Grand Caymen and back to Cozamel. I found the service on board the ship was great all the way around. Ships shows were awesome, I dont know what water you were in at Mahogany bay but I went snorkeling and the water was pristine and the beaches immaculate. Had a great time cave tubing in Belize but found Cozamel to be like a Mexican boarder town the vendors wouldn't leave me alone to shop like I wanted to. I went to Punta Sur the first time in Cozamel and that was fair when we came back around to Cozamel I cancelled my excursion and stayed on the ship. I dont know what Vista you were on but I had a great cruise on the Vista all the way around

Mejulie, it would probably be easy enough for them to raise prices across the board to make these items all-inclusive; but the IMAX and thrill theaters will always have a limited appeal (and, of course, very limited capacity)

You have to pay for the theater? So much for inclusiveness

You must have went to a different Mahagony bay then us. The water was crystal clear. I have about 2 hours of underwater GoPro video showing all the different sea life. As for being deep you can actually walk almost to the barrier. There are a few places that get a little deeper but nothing drastic.
