Review summary

We were very relaxed and recharged after the cruise. This was my first, but won't be my last!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was a long walk to get on to the ship and since it was my first time I was a little confused and overwhelmed. Until I got on the ship. Then the staff made me feel right at home and my nerves settled straight away. Thank you Tatenda Bvirakare for answering my questions and helping me feel at home.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was amazing. If you go away hungry, then you aren't really trying that hard to find food. It is everywhere.

Cherry on Top

5 out of 5

My husband really enjoyed his ice cream sundae. The staff were nice and friendly.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We just mostly walked around and chilled out watching the ocean. It was so nice to have so much we could do and yet nothing that we had to do.

Shops

5 out of 5

We got some great sale prices on the last day on the ship.

Vista Casino

2 out of 5

Smokey, crowded and not much fun. I can lose my money in a casino any day of the week and this one was nothing special at all.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We loved the comedy club so much. We went 5 times. Diane Ford was so funny I nearly wet my pants. We saw her twice. We also liked Tommy Drake and Paul Lions. The love and marriage show with "Donkey" was very entertaining and just so much fun. Donkey was such a great Cruise Director and he made the trip a million times more fun. I very much enjoyed every show he did. The show called "Flick" was so mind boggling good that I couldn't stay seated. I really enjoyed every part of it. It was breath taking & beautiful. The dancers and singers were out of this world talented. The "Director" was the best part of the show as he just kept things going and flowing. I can't believe that this show was a "free" part of the cruise!! What ever Trevor was very fun and very approachable. I loved his intros in the comedy club.

Liquid Lounge

5 out of 5

We enjoyed this venue.

Children's Programs

No kids on board

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We loved our waiter and his team. Komang was polite, professional and made dining a pleasure.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean. There were no issues with that. The layout was a bit odd. I didn't hate it, but I didn't get used to it the whole time we were there. I would go on the Vista again even with the odd lay out just because of the awesome staff!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The view was amazing from our balcony. There was plenty of space to put things away. There was room to lounge and watch TV at night. The only thing I didn't like was that the shower curtain tended to "hug" you while showering. It's a small shower, so I don't know that there's much you can really do about it.

Ship tip

Bring a magnet or some kind of decoration for your door. All doors pretty much look alike and at the end of a long day on shore it's nice to be able to spot your door easily.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Texas Rocks.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We went to Cozumel twice because we couldn't go to Mahogany Bay. It was so beautiful. I enjoyed the sights and the beach as well as the amazing bright blue water.

Belize City, Belize

3 out of 5
The water taxi was very bumpy and some idiot was smoking a cigar on it on the way back. I know that the "bumpy" part is nothing to complain about, but I was seasick already so it just made it worse. The city was so hot and the people there were way to pushy for us. We wanted to sit and relax and never could find a good place to chill. We were ready to head back after only 2 short hours. We won't really bother going back to Belize. Not our cup of tea.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras Did not visit port

The captain said that winds prohibited him from docking the ship so we didn't get to go.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
It was chaos. We were in line for 2 and a half hours just trying to get through customs. It was a long, hot nightmare and everyone's tempers were up. I was terrified that we would miss our shuttle to the airport. I am not sure how it can be fixed, but something needs to be done.

I am (unfortunately) prepared for our upcoming cruise debarkation... I bought one of those canes that flip into seats lol - and no, I’m not an old lady! Last cruise we had the same experience (although previous ones were smooth and easy). I’m really dreading that part. I’m glad your cruise was great and welcome to cruising! I bet you will find other ships that you like even more!

I completely agree with your opinion on debarkation. It is a nightmare and I don't know what else can be done.

The addiction to cruising begins. Glad you enjoyed tour vacation.
