Review summary

I wanted to try a bigger ship and stay in Havana Cabins. I wanted to private pool and spa area with less crowds. Well there was less crowds when the carnival crew decided to stop the people who did not have the pass to be back there, but you will always have people sneak into places when they didn't pay. when you are on a cruise you get to know the people and find out who are the ones sneaking. lets just say you have to pay upwards of $1200 a person extra for the private pool and spa area. I expect the carnival people to do their jobs and make people follow the rules. The Havana bar tenders did not act like they wanted to make any drinks for you and they did not taste like they had any alcohol in them. The only way to ensure is to not order a mixed drink. When boarding the ship and we finally got to our room it was dirty. There was a layer of dust on the night stand so thick it was gross. when going to dinner the first elegant night the waiter sat us down took out drink order, then our dinner order. The next time we saw him he brought 3 of us our appetizers. Then we are getting our meals still the 4th person did not receive her appetizer. Worst dining experience. The food on the ship wasn't that great at all except Guys burgers. I pretty much ate that every day after that. Went to the comedy show one night, 3 of us orders alcohol drinks and I ordered a water. Then i checked my account summary that night and the waitress charged me for a drink I did not even order. So I went back in there and they took it off. I saw the receipt and it did not have a signature on it at all. This is my 3rd Carnival cruise and the worst experience cruising. I would NOT recommend this ship to anyone EVER! The Best thing about this ship was the private photographer. She was very sweet and did an excellent job on the photos. she was literally the nicest person on the entire ship.

Main dining waiters forget about you. Specialty Restaurants took more than 45 min to serve our food, it was the mongolian grill. The Buffets food was sometimes ok and other times they would be gross. Also they would close it early

Onboard Activities

The Skyride was closed almost everytime my husband and I went to get on it. One time is said for a private event and there was no one up there. Then they closed it at every port. Even when you have hundreds of people that stay on board.

Comedians were funny, other than that they did not have many shows. They did alot of trivia.

Service and Staff

Waiters were not attentive, room stewards did not clean the room very well. They tell you they change the sheets every night and we found kleenex in our bed from the night before from a sneezing fit. Also trash left on the night stand and dust never wiped off the night stand since the ship first went into the water it looked like. Very thick! Waitress at the Limelight Lounge charged me for a drink when I ordered a water and I had to go complain. They found the receipt with NO signature on it. WOW

Caves were an excellent excursion. The tour guide was great, then we went into Georgetown and the people were so nice.

Chachnub?? beach tour, it was ok. The food was not very good and the waiters tell you the all inclusive doesnt' include their tip so please tip me it basically what they said WOW!

Disembarkation

All elevators were shut off except the levels they were calling, the problem was they only give you like 15 minutes. Then guess what its time for the next level. wWhen there are that many people and all their luggage it takes more than that.

Sounds like life has got you down to the point where you’re negative about everything. Understandable, we’ve all been there. I suggest you go on a cruise, relax, enjoy the endless ocean views, the unlimited free food, gain some perspective on how lucky and privileged you are - oh, wait, you already did that! If you can’t be happy on a cruise, maybe it’s just not for you. Sometimes, no matter how much you pay, there will be mistakes made, things won’t go exactly right or as planned, but you have to let the little things go or you’ll never be happy. On a positive note, I see you liked Grand Cayman! That’s one of my favorites, too! 🏝

fscvan, I read on another forum, that someone else who had booked a Havana cabin, talked about how much more they paid, and called the other passengers riff raff. They booked a Havana to be away from the riff raff!! They were also upset bc of how much they paid and the Havana area was open to the public after 7pm. Wow. The Havana area is very nice, but I would not pay that. I want to be with my riff raff cruise mates! They are fun!! 😄

Well it sounds as if you thought you were on your own personal cruise, to be waited on. Just because you think you're better than another because you was crazy enough to pay upwards of $1200 extra per person as you put it. People who believe they are privileged and better than others don't need to be on cruise with others, they will always find something or someone wrong. You just can't enjoy being with your love ones or family. Here's to never having to read another review from you on any Carnival Cruise again.

Yikes. They should keep those who do not stay in the Havana cabins out during the day. It’s open to the rest of the guests after 7pm. There are so many food choices around the ship that are included. Some in our party made healthier choices this past cruise; and even with that, there were options. I usually find a lot of dust on the shelves in the bathrooms. We bring wipes and wipe everything down. I’ve been getting some good drinks on the ships lately. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We always double check our charges. Everyone should. In the dining room, they work as a team, from the prep team to the serving team. If one is behind, it all gets delayed (for whatever the item/ dish is). It happens. I found the dining service did improve from over a year ago. They seemed to have cut back so much a few years ago.
