My first cruise, but I would definitely do it again. I had several first on the trip that made the experience worthwhile. I did get the feeling that I was being nickeled and dimed to death, but I have had similar experiences on all-inclusive resorts.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easy to get on and they provided entertainment while we waited for the other passengers.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main and specialty restaurants were awesome and the food was extraordinary. The buffet was what you might expect from a buffet, edible.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Plenty to do and the events were fun and well timed allowing you to do as much as you wanted or as little.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Entertainers were top notch and the shows were well done, with great sound, video and lighting.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Dewa took care of our room and outside of Matt, the cruise director, he made our trip awesome.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Loved the ship, but never really got my bearings straight. Front was identical to the back and had to consult the small maps to figure out where you were.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Dewa kept it clean and it was a nice room overall.
Ship tip
Be careful of racking up Expenses day 1. Most prepaid services don’t count on day of embarkation or debarkation.
People were very pushy and made others feel unsafe. I realize that is how they make money, but being badgered every two feet is too much. Won’t return to Jamaica.
Weather was rough on this port, but it was very clean, beautiful place and the people were very nice. Will definitely come back here to spend a week. 2 tank Scuba diving excursion was awesome and Neil and Tyler with Cayman Diving were awesome guys. Will come back and use this company for future dives.
Cozumel is one of my favorite places. Street vendors are also pushy but not to point of being scary like Jamaica. Plus the diving was out of this world (as usual).
Easier to get on than off, plus I was unaware my duty free, tax free stuff bought on the ship was taxed by TABC as I was getting off. The savings are really only realized while on the ship.
Hate you had that experience in Jamaica. Jamaica is such a magical place and the people are some of the best island people I've met. I hope you'll return. Negril Jamaica is a slice of heaven. In Montego Bay on a cruise next time try Doctors Cove beach. Great public beach, entry costs is minimal. No excursion needed.
