This was just a cruise to get away from home and work. We've been to these ports several times so wasn't important to take excursions again.
Entertainment has improved over past cruises with Carnival!
And Matt our cruise director was the best!
Weather wasn't the best leaving Galveston, but was much better in Caribbean ports.
Embarkation

Getting on the ship fast but had to wait 30 minutes to get on an elevator. Real mad house.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We mainly went to the buffet, as it fit with our schedule better. Liked your time dining, but seemed to take a while for the food to arrive.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment
4 out of 5
Stage shows are much improved and there was something interesting almost every night. Still don't care for the Hasbro game on one of the nights.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Room stewards have always been great.
Also waiters on Lido deck are providing better service with carts for pastries and drink refills (juice, tea, coffee), similar to Princess Cruises.
Matt the cruise director was fantastic.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Atriums was nice/different, but also miss the glass elevators in atrium.
Theater is much smaller than expected for this size ship. Also some of the shows used more of the lower floor so views from upper balcony were obscured.
Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip
Need patience for embarkation and disembarkation. Plan any flights later in the day as we didn't get out of the terminal until 11:30.
Asked to leave room by 8:00, then waited until after 10:30 to carry my own bags off the ship. It was briefed that the 'fastest/easiest' way off ship was to carry your luggage if possible. But if decks 1, 2, and 3 carry off leave at the same time as zones 1, 2, and 3 then where is the speed. Seems to me this only allows Carnival to spend less money on porters and baggage service.
