Review summary

Carnival likes to nickel-and-dime you. $5 to enable chat on the Hub app. $200 to just ACCESS the spa (never mind treatments). Pay for the thrill theater, pay for IMAX, upsell everywhere. Also, since I guess Vista needs to make its costs back, it is being run very hard. Clearly the maintenance does not have enough time to square it away between cruises. For a recently built ship, it's pretty beat up. Overall it was OK, just not as good a value for the money as before. Blatant upcharges are terrible.

I've cruised on many Carnival ships and have had really great times. I'm fine with the up charges and find that cruising is still a better value for the money than a land based vacation. The only reason I'm leaving carnival is because the newer ships have a lot more amenities and food options. Carnival made me a veteran cruiser, so good luck on your land based vacation. ALL cruise lines nickel and dime you. Norwegian is known for that. Maybe Disney doesn’t, but you pay twice as much from the get go.

I agree completely. They always charge us for stuff like roulette, slot machines, booze, and other things we simply can’t avoid. The horror! :-)

We have been on Carnival 3 times and loved it. Who needs the Hub on a cruise.

Hmmm, Chat on the hub at is not required so why pay for it and I have never seen a spa free anywhere, land or see and last I checked I had to pay to go see a movie on any IMAX theater. So I'm not sure why all the complaints.
