Carnival Vista - not as good as other Carnival ships, but you will still have fun
Embarkation

Only one embarkation point open, Carnival sent emails out to warn people and said to arrive early. They were not kidding, VERY long wait and not enough seating for everyone.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food in restaurant was good to very good, but service took a long time; staff mostly very friendly. Buffet - food was barely warm, except on two days. Some of it was very flavorful and all but one or staff was friendly and helpful. The senior omelet maker bordered on rude. One of our party is gluten free and had difficulty finding food on buffet that they could eat. There were two staff in buffet dining room cleaning table that were amazing and energetic - one every day he was there told everyone to have a great day and glad to see them.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Massage was well done, but almost twice the price on land. Sky ride was really great, but lines long. Putt putt golf was great as was all the games available. Sky gym made it feel like exercising not as arduous. I was disappointed in the movies chosen for this voyage. Shopping was good, prices were actually good and reasonable.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were excellent with the exception of having difficulty hearing some of the singers over the music playing. They were interactive, exciting and the dancing was fabulous. The comic who didn't get to leave was funny and worth the wait. I just wish that on the last day home there had been shows to see and that some of the shows had been repeated instead of a new one everyday they had a show - with everything going on at the same time it was impossible to see everything. The violinist was exceptional.
Children's Programs

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
When we arrived the room was mostly clean, there was a lot of dust on glass shelves in bathroom. But after that the room was very clean every day. Chose morning room straightening, but often the room would not be clean until after 12PM. Main dining room the waiters were friendly, but slow. Matt the cruise director was great.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
As a newer ship, I was surprised by some of the issues. The ceiling in the stateroom had paint peeled off. All public areas were very well maintained until the last day. The last day many tables in dining room were left un-bussed. I saw only one female busser cleaning tables and the head dining room staff in a white uniform.

Nice size, very quiet even for an adjoining room. Love the comforter.
Ship tip
Find the out of the way outside deck areas for quiet relaxation. The deck outside the library has comfortable lounge chairs in a quiet atmosphere if you just want to read.
Love the caves - excursion worth it - The shopping market was horrible - very pushy people who actually tried to pull on your clothes to get you to stop.
