Loved it - we had never been to the Southern Caribbean before!
Embarkation

It was easy, but we did arrive a half our early so needed to stand in the "Early" check in line,..which was a longer line...so we thought we would just pop into the "On Time" line when it was our turn but in about twenty minutes it evened out. These folks have several ships a day, they have a system, we were thru security and walking to our ship about an hour later - so no worries! Be prepared, have your docs, your passport, your boarding pass, (we had done online check in) so it was fast for us)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

We really enjoyed the food on board...our favorite was JiJi's Asian - hands down and we felt the upcharge of $15-per person was MORE than worth it...we could have fed two more folks! The Steakhouse was very good too but to us, JiJi's was even better. The Mongolian Grill is NOT the same as the experience you get with JiJi's - though it is a great included lunch alternative we enjoyed. We love the MDR for SEA DAY brunch (try the french toast!) and the meals were all great but the last day Baked Alaska was a favorite! We opted for Your Time Dining and never had to wait for table. There were longer lines for Pizza, Guy's Burger and the buffet. But all were hot and delish! We also enjoyed dinner one night at Bonsai Sushi! So fresh and delicious.
Onboard Activities

Hot stone massage was awesome...a super way to unwind. Music onboard was awesome - esp the electric violins.

V - was awesome with my hot stone massage - I would recommend this treatment! It is the perfect way to unwind from the stress of traveling cross-country!

Service and Staff

Our stewards were fabulous, perhaps the best ever in seven cruises! Anticipating needs and taking care of things without being in the way - friendly and suggesting new things on this huge ship we hadn't done yet!
Ship Quality

So many fun things! An IMAX theatre, done! We were having fun seeing it all - ropes course, sky ride, so many things to take it!
Cabin / Stateroom

Balcony - Regular, nothing special about it, really but it was kept clean and stocked with an ice bucket and comfy bed. FAB!
Ship tip
Look for the "secret deck" and ship's coin! We take passport copy and leave our passport in our cabin's safe - and take a waterproof case for my iphone (I love the KOBERT) to put my $, phone, sign and sail card and driver's lisc in it and swim with that around my neck! I don't leave that stuff unattended...anywhere!
We just go there, get free chairs and swim. We take our sail card, passport COPY and PHONE put it in a waterproof case like KOBERT Case and keep that baby around my neck and swim, swim, swim!!! Not keeping my stuff in my shoes on the beach! Not that it's not safe THERE, just don't trust my stuff unattended anywhere!
Through a Facebook group, met a couple and we split a cab to Dreams La Romana Resort for a day pass. Had a WONDERFUL day! We swam at the pool and beach, ate a lovely lunch and drank, all included.
Booked thru Carnival - did a bus tour, visited the town, the Curacao Liquor Factory, where we learned a lot of history and were able to try a few samples and then had a few minutes to purchase a drink and shop in their gift store, before going to Mambo Beach for about 40 mins. - so fun!
Thru Carnival - 115 ft VIP Snorkel and Sail Schooner - so fun with a chef who made a fantastic lunch of grilled Mahi Mahi, chicken, and steak with dipping sauces and potato salad and macaroni salad with non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages included. The schooner was really awesome, there were covered areas, one could ride in the sunny areas, on top of the webbed areas by the sail, and there were nice sized male and female bathrooms. We could snorkel or take out one of the sea kayaks. I would really recommend this excursion!
