Hello,
The ship was beautiful and we had an awesome time, there were some disappointments. We decided to give Carnival another shot to see if they have improved and are comparable to other cruise lines.
1. Elevators (any part of the ship) at any given time were very slow.
2. Service was not at all up to ship's standards, even Carnival. We had to ask for service at breakfast in the main dining room after waiting for 15-20 min without even seeing a waiter. Service at the bars were very slow and the staff was not as friendly as other cruises or cruise ships. We are on vacation and expected to be treated as such, I do understand the staff works very hard and long hours, but that is what they signed up for.
3. As we prepaid for out tips before the cruise, I felt that when I did receive a drink and sign for the ticket, when the staff did not see a tip I was frowned upon and never to see them again. (not good habits to embrace). I do like to tip with great service up and beyond what I had prepaid, I felt I only did that 2x on the 8 days I was on the ship.
4. The overall outlook of the staff was not exciting at all.
For example, as we were playing trivia, I felt the host was going to fall asleep as she/he was yawning and not getting the audience involved. That's what makes a fun ship.... Starts with the host!
5. Lines were EXTREMELY long on the buffet at breakfast. There has to be some way to reorganize the stations as to not to wait in such long lines for simple items.
6. Pools are very small and not much entertainment around the Lido deck. I felt there could have been more stimulating entertainment (fun entertainment) like I had experienced on other Carnival cruises. I felt that on shorter cruises there was much more Lido entertainment and excitement elsewhere on the ship!
7. Although room was cleaned and fresh towels everyday, there didn't seem to be any interaction with our cabin steward. I don't even know who they were... Never experienced this before on any cruise, was always made to feel at home and pampered.
8. Ending on a good note, I did feel the food was the best I had ever experienced on any cruise.
