Review summary

Nothing was very favorite about the this cruse. The cabin service was terrible. They didn't clean it for three mornings in a row. Didn't have any soap at the sink for several days. Complained and they gave us a couple of free drinks.

The food was not as good as it was in the past on Carnival. The make huge cutbacks on the quantity and quality of the food. Never charged before for lobster and filet now they do.

The buffet was very limited with only three main dishes available and it seemed like the same food every day presented in a different way.

No midnight buffet, not captains party.

It seemed all they wanted was to nickel and dime you for everything on the ship.

The ports were ok and the entertainment was pretty good.

Other then that I don't think I would cruise with them again even I think that I will  up grated from gold status to the next level with this cruise.as I strongly believe their quality of service has gone down and profit seems to be the bottom line.

There then the poor service the cabin was nice and spacious.

Ship tip

Upgrade the service staff. More choices on the menu and buffet. Sugar free drinks for diabetics. Better embarkation and debarkation. Took two hours to get luggage.

I agree 100% mccabe. I have never had a bad cruise, so the reviews really don't affect anyone except for first timers who may buy into the trash talk

they really need to monitor these fake reviews, no reason to let a ships rating be affected by someone who was never on the cruise. They are easy to spot, generic name, generic picture and no saved cruises.

My bad lol I could of swore I seen RC! I patiently waiting for my turn on the Vista....in December 😫😫I love cruising as well and cruise 4-6 times a year. I like smaller ships but don't care for rundown ships! There is plenty of money to update the small ships and I'm not talking about putting in new carpet and calling it a renovation!

jinean this review is about a Carnival ship but thanks for sharing your opinions about RC ships. I honestly think that there are hits and misses on all the cruiselines. it depends on the ship and the crew. the smaller older ships just don't offer what the larger ships do and you have to accept that before you sail. i love cruising. cruising for us has to be the most relaxing vacations.

I just cruised on the Empress a couple weeks ago. The food sucked! Although the last night was lobster night and it was free and it was good! I personally will never cruise on this ship or the Majesty again. The staff and shows on the Empress was very good tho.

it's not free at all on 5 day or less cruises this is to keep the fares low on the shorter cruises. they still serve the flat iron steak for free.

badlcho    7 years ago

yes.. only the 1st elegant night it is free.

venusofwisconsin    7 years ago

Badlcho are you saying lobster isn't free on the second elegant night?

badlcho    7 years ago

steak and lobster are free the 1st elegant night on cruises that are 6+ days. it has been this way for going on 2 years. carnival did away with the midnight buffets a few years ago because not enough people were going. we've never not had our room cleaned.

Well on 7/29/2017 I will bring McDonald's then and enjoy what is meant to be enjoyed (cruising, sun and sand) not in that order.

marcelme    7 years ago

you might try McDonald's. I don't cruise for the food.

Yeah, I think you are reviewing the wrong ship line. Lol! No way the room was not cleaned for 3 days straight, it's called Captain's dinner and lobster (all you can eat too) is served with no charge, and there has never been a midnight buffet.

Like I said, this is happening on the major cruise lines. The days of glamour and glitz are gone for dollars and cents....the bigger the ship, the smaller staffing and more extra charge for "speciality" restaurants. Figure it out, if the buffet is smaller and less variety, the cruise line may get you to go their fancy restaurants.

It's hard to believe that your cabin was not cleaned for 3 days in a row. I got lobster on elegant night and was not charged extra. Now there is room for improvement when it comes to the meals. But my overall experience was great and my wife and I enjoyed our cruise this past March, 7 days was great.

Msbee    7 years ago

Don't be surprised if the other major cruise lines have done or are doing the same cut backs....

B.S. There hasn't been midnight buffets in over a decade. They do serve lobster and steak without an up charge on a cruise elegant night or 2.
