boarding before 1 or 1:30 is a horrible way to start a vacation. cabins not ready, folks hoarding all the seats at any food venue just to pass the time so you can't find a place to sit and eat, everything closed, shops, casino... hard pass.

Arrival time and boarding times are different. You can arrive for check in as early as 10:00 am, but you may need to wait to actually board the ship, which is after it has been cleared by customs, all prior passengers have disembarked and the crew has gotten the ship ready for boarding. Boarding time is usually between 11 and noon.

Online check in time is for arrival at the terminal only. Boarding/embarkation time normally starts between 11:00 and 11:30 depending when the ship is ready to accept the new passengers. Remember, rooms are not ready until 1:30. Boarding pass can be used to purchase drinks before sign and sail card is in hand. Do the muster drill as soon as you board. 5 minutes of your time.

You pick a boarding timeframe when you check in. Hopefully you already checked in. Earliest you can pick is 1030-11am I think. You can check in 2 weeks before your cruise
