Excellent Experience for First Time Cruisers by rebekahvi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

This might have been answered above already… the girls enjoyed the bunk bed feel and my husband and I found our bed extremely comfortable. Always clean, always had fun towel animals that we appreciated and loved seeing, and we couldn’t have asked for a more personable steward of our room. Nyuman was such an honor to have met and get to know.

A Beautiful Work in Progress by MelaninQueen84

We did not use the balcony. The cove style greatly limited the breeze & view. This made it too hot & humid to go out there. The Family Harbor Lounge is a great concept but poorly executed. Parents used this as a camp carnival. Kids were unsupervised & running amok. We saw them touching the food & making a mess. The ice cream machine was empty all but one time that I went in there. I don’t eat it but that was a big draw for some of my cabin mates. It closed at 9pm. We were only able to get ice water a few times. Other than that, it was closed or a total disaster zone. The Family Harbor staff seemed the most miserable of any crew members & rightfully so. They are not babysitters nor slaves. Either do it right Carnival or shut it down. Kids should not be allowed without a guardian, put a curfew into effect & we needed longer hours so we could read, relax, etc when kids are in bed. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN! Family Harbor was a total waste of our time & money. We should have gotten a traditional stateroom. It was also Aft, so we had a LONG walk to almost all activities & dining options. I couldn’t wear my heels.

Sleepless nights under the galley by szeyensoto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

What crusisesonly and carnival doesn't tell you, is that most of the family harbour rooms are directly under the kitchen galley. All hours of the day, particularly between 2:00 and 5 am (that's right am!) you can hear loud noises, banging and what sounded like (but probably wasnt) furniture being lifted and slammed on the floor. My 4 year old is a deep sleeper, my 2 year old was up all the time crying from lack of sleep. What should have been a great experience was terrible!!!! After numerous phone calls the manager finally called back and offered $300 off our bill. From my calculations we paid $516 a night, I guess it's personal opinion if it was adequate compensation. DO NOT stay in family harbour 2412 and 2429 if you want sleep!!!

Carnival Vista review by DarthSandwich

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The cabin was clean and our room steward was great. It is right across from the family harbor lounge which is great. However, the gally is directly above and noisy all day and night. It didn't bother me too much but drove my wife crazy.
