Most Caribbean cruises are like that. When asked about the cruise I was on I say "imagen going to Walmart on Christmas eve and being locked in for a week".

I’m scheduled to cruise on the Victory in January with family. I’m already aware it’s an older ship known for partying. Doing it to be with family. I have not been on a 7 day with Carnival on a newer ship. Looking forward to trying a new ship on a 7 day cruise. Try Royal Caribbean or Norwegian. Great entertainment and different experience.

I wouldn’t judge Carnival based on this specific cruise. This was an older ship on a shorter itinerary aimed primarily at first time and budget conscious cruisers. A newer ship on a longer itinerary will usually be a better experience.
