Review summary

For this particular ship, the destination was more exciting than the journey. I feel like for most cruisers, they go for the ship activities. I don't feel like I would have had such a great time had it not been for the excursions. The comedy onboarding was my favorite thing about the ship. This ship is supposed to be undergoing major renovations in Spring 2019 and a lot of the upgrades that they are telling people about will make this ship better equipped to compete with the rest of the fleet.

Faster to the fun was definitely worth it!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I had heard stories from other cruisers of the different types of food available but I was not overly impressed with the selection. Guys burgers was amazing, the dessert on the buffet (especially at lunch) was my favorite, and of course 24 hour ice cream and pizza cant be beat. However, the menu in the dining room was lacking and you had to pay extra for things other people have said were included on other ships, like a basic steak.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The Victory didn't have as many things to do as other ships, but to my understanding is about to undergo a major overhaul. The comedy onboarding was great; we went to every show, even some repeats. There was a mini golf course and arcade that we meant to try but didn't have time. One of the pools however was empty for most of the voyage and once it was filled, the other was empty.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Percy Crews 2 was the funniest comedian and the cruise director Ryan Rose was literally EVERYWHERE. He had so much energy!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our stateroom steward, Putra was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. All of the waiters were super friendly and very entertaining.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size was small, but we had enough room and storage. Our room had a window towards the front of the ship that overlooked a deck that most people didn't know about so that was awesome but not so awesome if a storm comes in because you will feel every movement.

Ship tip

This is an older ship and will be undergoing renovations soon.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

1 out of 5
The traffic was horrendous getting into Miami. Fly there if you must go to Miami. The port itself was busy but pretty well organized. They must have been undergoing some construction because it was rather dirty.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
We didn't have as much time in this port but we did get to go parasailing through Carnival which was amazing. The only down fall to this port was that there was not an accessible beach that I'm aware of.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cozumel was my favorite port. We prebooked an excursion for a land and sea tour. A storm was coming in when we got into port so our "sea" portion was cancelled but Carnival took care of everything. Cozumel doesn't have the typical turquoise waters, it has vibrant cyan blue waters. Had I known this ahead of going, I would have booked an excursion that included some type of beach time. But you do have to pay to get on any of the beaches.

Disembarkation

Faster to the fun! Faster to get off the boat and not have to be crowded!
