Review summary
My husband and I took this cruise with 12 friends. Hanging out with them was the best part of this cruise. The staterooms were clean and updated but ours smelled like a former passenger had smoked in our room. Our steward did the best he could trying to get the smoke smell out. Our ship seemed older and very crowded. We did appreciate that there were areas on board for adults only. The food was ok and we chose to eat in the dining room as the open food area was always very crowded and had long lines.
I had one annoying experience. We purchased the most expensive wine package in order to chose a wine for each of our dinners. The process of getting the bottle at dinner was a major event. They give you a coupon after you order the first bottle. It was not explained well that we were to bring that coupon each evening so the second night you would have thought I committed a major crime. After much haggling I was given the original wine list and ordered the second bottle. The third night I brought their coupon. I noticed that the list on the back of the coupon did not match the original list, only 12 not 14 choices and the bottle we wanted and had had the first night was missing. Again, a major issue. In addition, the portions of several menu items were pretty skimpy. I feel the dining room organization needs major improvement. I guess you get what you pay for!
