Review summary
Carnival Cruise Lines has vast room for improvement on its food quality and service. I am consistently disappointed in the presentation, quality, and taste of the food served on their ships. At times it was mediocre, but most times simply disgusting and not palatable. The buffet items looked liked something from "Vegas Vacation" ("I'll have some of the yellow please") and the meals were often cold, under or overcooked, and generally poorly prepared. The food service staff was neither motivated nor concerned, and it was rare to find any that "went the extra mile" in service. The shows were also puerile, poorly staged, and monotonous. Room service, deli, and grill are the best options for food; what can they do to make a sandwich taste too bad! Cabin service team was excellent!Ship experiences

Ship tip
Stay away from the buffets and be judicious about what you order in the dining rooms. Don't set expectations high, as you will be sorely disappointed. If you eat eggs for breakfast, specify that you want FRESH eggs (not cartooned or powdered) and don't order them scrambled under any circumstances. What you'll get is a hard-fried egg sliced into smaller pieces.
