Review summary

If this were my first cruise, I would never cruise again. Overbooked ship, too many people, security guards wandering the boat with drug sniffing dogs, fights, arguments, etc. Very disappointed that kept a portion of my refund when my child couldn’t join me on this trip. Next time, I would book directly with the cruise. They would have refunded me the portion that kept.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Okay good. Long lines. Had to skip breakfast because the line for the buffet was too long and the restaurants had an hour long wait.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pools were crowded. The fitness activities were minimal and only in the early morning.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
So average. One good singer. The rest was subpar.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
They really tried the best. Felt sorry for what they had to put up with.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Old ship. Ice machines hardly worked. Bored after a few days.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Normal cabin.

Ship tip

Bring a mask.

Ports of call

New York, New York

3 out of 5
Thought it would be more exciting.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
I went to what the locals said was a nice beach. Trash in the water and broken bottles.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Beautiful. I will return.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Most beautiful water I’ve ever seen. Not much to see when snorkeling.

Disembarkation

A happy subtraction. Cruising isn't for everyone.

Old ship? LOL. Also if you’ve cruised before, you know ships can’t sail “overbooked”. Everyone must have a cabin space. In the summer and spring breaks, there can be more bodies since more kids fill up those four person cabins. Maybe try sailing when school is in session or longer cruises for slightly less crowds. But of course there will always be something you won’t like.

Interesting, that you consider a ship that's only been in 1 continuous year of service old. The ship finished it's build a mere 2 months before the epidemic shut down cruising in Asia (6 weejs prior to being called a pandemic) it was then mothballed in the Mediterranean until Jan of 2023 when it went for a re-branding as a Carnival ship that started sailing the end of May 2023.
