The process of handing in our suitcases and boarding the ship was easy and convenient. We were especially impressed by how quickly they accommodated my partner's need for a wheelchair.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Despite some recent cutbacks, we found the meals to be quite good. Dining at the Canal Grand restaurant was a wonderful experience, and being able to reserve a table easily through the HUB application made our evenings even more enjoyable. The daily menu, including items from the famous chef Emeryl, was quite attractive. The buffet offered a good but usuals variety of dishes, plenty of seating choices. We usually don't indulge between meals, but this time we couldn't resist trying everything, and we were definitely not disappointed! The Captain's Pizza was a standout - it surpassed any we've had in NYC, reminding us of the delicious pizzas we had in Italy. With its crispy crust and flavorful toppings, we couldn't help but try a few different varieties at a time. Onboard Activities

One of my most important ship features is a good running track. I really enjoyed my Nordic walking on decks 5, 11, and 12 - it was better than I had on other ships we had cruised. There were pickleballs and basketball competitions which we liked to watch! Very impressive skyline - many parents with kids walked on the 12th deck.

Entertainment

First of all, the third evening was the Captain's toast party, like a Venetian carnival: many in masks, elegant outfits - I liked it the most! In the Atrium of the Sant Marco Piazza, two violinists played Italian music and singers and chorus- it was thrilling! A talented singer Amy Lou gave a solo concert - outstanding! Daily music everywhere, Comedy Club was extremally popular - the theater was packed every day twice! Almost every day a show in the main theater - very professional! I'm a theater NYC goer so I liked the level of performers! The Gondola lounge offered different Trivia many times daily. Also, DJ in the Carnival lounge was good and we danced. The Piano Man wasn't my favorite. A few times daily we had Trivia in the Gondola lounge and it was fun!

Service and Staff

This is the strong side of the cruise - the staff was at its best! Friendly and helpful, efficient and attentive to our requests!

Ship Quality

The design of Carnaval Venezia is outstanding! We've visited real Venezia in Italy and the ship reminds us of the most beautiful places in the world. Everything is so comfortable, many soft chairs, couches, and tables make our time pleasant! Everywhere was very clean and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Spacious, Comfortable, Clean! There was plenty of place for hanging clothes, the shower/tub combo was quite enough for us, and the large couch was just the right size for my tall man - he likes to have a nap. The balcony is cozy and nice - don't miss taking a cabin with a balcony when going to the south!

Ship tip

The ship offered Fun Italian Style and much more! Please be prepared for smart elevators - they are too smart and it's a drawback.

Ports of call

New York, New York

I live in NY so for me it's the best port! I'd like to have more different destinations from it!

Nassau, Bahamas

WOW! Such a tremendous change for the better in the 6 years we have been there. The beautification of the port and around the shopping area is outstanding! But be prepared for a long walk along the pier! We had an excursion to a private beach - great and pleasant!

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Nice and huge beach! I didn't like the BBQ lunch - we skipped and went to ship to eat. It was not enough of beach beds and umbrellas. I didn't see any guides there to ask a question.

Grand Turk Island

The best place!!! I will come back - I liked it so much! The ship and the beach are so close we didn't need to have long walk in the burning sun! The beach offered plenty of beds and shades - we paid $40 for 2 beds and shell for the shade. Crystal clean water and sand - outstanding pleasure!

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We were not lucky with the weather there - was very humid and the sun was in clouds. We didn't go to any beach - you need to take a taxi for it. No beach close the the port. Just shopping area is nice and cozy.
