Overall our family enjoyed this cruise, weather in New York was cold but you knew that when booking the cruise, enjoyed our first visit to NewYork, met lots of cruisers from NY and got lots of advise for our NY visit after the cruise, had fantastic interaction with the playlist performers, fun squad and what can we say about our Cruise Director, Jacky, he is the best CD we have ever had after 11 Carnival cruises. Best advice to newer cruisers is to just chill and relax, there will be line ups and the occasional hiccup but just enjoy your cruise. Early Venezia reviews were not good at all. Our family completely enjoyed this ship, all those poor reviews was a matter of opinion, it was awesome to be on this ship to see that this was a great ship with fantastic staff and outstanding service.
Embarkation

Platinum cruisers, had an 11:00 boarding time, took 20 mins to get aboard the ship, did the muster drill, dropped off our carry on luggage and was having a Guys Burger by 11:30, embarkation was very smooth, unlike the reviews posted by others not liking Manhattan Cruise Terminal on previous cruises

Liked the new additions in the MDR, had great food and service all 10 nights, buffet was like all previous Carnival Cruises, decent food but does need to change the variety, especially on a longer cruise

Our room steward Gede was fantastic, took great care of us throughout the cruise, MDR dinning staff where very friendly, knew all our names early into the cruise, food came out in a timely manner every night, our group of 7 enjoyed our dinning experience every night, great team of Putu, Roldan, Harold,John & Ariel
Had great service and interaction from the Fun Squad and bar staff all cruise. CD Jacky is definitely one of the best.
Ship Quality

After the recent retrofit there there was no issues at all, common area was always clean, tables quickly cleaned once you where done, layout is definitely different from other Carnival Ships, liked all the different areas to hang out and enjoy the entertainment throughout the ship, in comparison the only nitpick I have is the ventilation in the casino, was absolutely the worst for me,
Cabin / Stateroom

Had a deluxe ocean view room, a decent size for 3 and having the extra tub & sink is nice
Having a full day here made a huge difference for us, went into both churches, went to the fort and of course a Pina Colada from Barrachina. Have always enjoyed old San Juan
Was a great beach day, we used the lounge chairs from Nu Love, 2 lounge chairs, umbrella and 5 beverages for $30. Great deal in our opinion, been supporting this place for over 10 years
We intentionally took a very late zone to disembark, as we where just going to the hotel, by the time our zone was called there was no issues in walking right off the ship and collecting our luggage, for a major port, the taxi & ride share pick up area was very small and congested, a fault of New York City
