Review summary

The ship was beautiful and very well-maintained and clean. The staff could not have been more accommodating, happy and eager to please. The only complaint I have is it is definitely not a ship for children or teenagers. The pools can comfortably hold maybe 10 people now picture that with 20 people. There is no room to swim. There’s barely room to even move in the pools. Going out of New York City, a majority of the cruisers were from the city so there was a very large group of people from the Bronx and Brooklyn area. The worst part was the marijuana. I’m not sure how they got it on, but one very large group was smoking it on the ship and again on the private island.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

As always the food was delicious

Onboard Activities

The pools are so over crowded and small. You definitely wouldn’t want to. Ring children no matter the age. The shows were ok but nothing special! My teenage son was bored most of the time. The ship should be adult only.

Lido Pool

1 out of 5

Actually, it shouldn’t even be one star. The pool is not much bigger than your average above ground swimming pool. At one point I counted 15 people and it was overcrowded forget about getting a lounge chair anywhere near the pool. People are up at 6 AM to reserve an entire section and then will fight over it the chair if you try to take it, the kids are not allowed to swim in the pool they will get yelled at by the lifeguards because there is no room to move

Serenity Adult-Only Retreat

3 out of 5

This area would have been nice if it wasn’t for the marijuana smoking, and the children. Even though it’s supposed to be adults, only there were plenty of children.

Entertainment

Not great

Carnival Seaside Theatre

3 out of 5

There was a terrible selection of movies.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I can’t say enough of how great the staff was. They were always happy to talk to you. I was impressed with how freest the staff was. Anything you wanted they would gladly get!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean and great design

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was perfect. Great balcony. Large bathroom and plenty of storage. Enough electric outlets, both European and American outlets.

Ship tip

Do not sail with children. The ship isn’t designed for them.

Ports of call

New York, New York

4 out of 5
It’s NYC

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic Did not visit port

Very disappointing that we had to skip this port considering it was the reason we booked this cruise. No compensation for the missed day.

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
This port was nice, could have been clearer. Once you leave port you see a very beautiful island but also very poor. Stray dogs all over who are sick and thin. I guess this is common in the Caribbean. Took a bus tour an felt safe the entire time.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Beautiful beaches. Amazing place to visit. You have to get to beach right away to get a lounge chair or you miss out. Rent your umbrella and float Or tube ahead of time as they run out quick. Food provided was good. Drinks are expensive and you can’t use your drink package on the island.

Disembarkation
