Review summary

This could be a phenomenal experience if they improve on the food.

Embarkation

Very easy experience , booked an arrival time, got in the on time line and was through the whole process and on the ship within 15 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
This was the most disappointing part, the food was mediocre most of the time. I’m referring to the dining rooms and the Buffets. The good points- there is a very good selection and the menu alternated. However, the food quality was not that great. There wasn’t a lot of flavor to the food which honestly surprised me. An example would be you would get a batter fried item such as calamari or shrimp and the fried part was soggy or a Caprese salad, which should be very easy and the tomatoes weren’t ripe- it’s august there is no excuse for tomatoes not to be ripe. I could list a whole bunch more examples. Guy fieri burgers were good, the pizza bar was good, the omelettes made to order were good in the buffet. You have to pay for the gelato which does not taste like true Italian gelato. Only did that once. You pay for popcorn if you want to have it with your movie and it will was cold. I didn’t go to the specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There was plenty to do or not do. If you want to see a show get there early, they fill quick. We were 45 minutes early for a comedy show and couldn’t get in next time went 55 minutes early and made it in.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Both comedians were good, the ships dancers and singers put on good shows. In the atrium they had violinists who were spectacular. The dj’s did some good mixes.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Awesome staff, friendly and helpful. Our room steward remembered our names from day one and greeted us daily. That is one impressive memory!! MarcQ the cruise director was phenomenal and one very busy man.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I would give 5 stars or more for cleanliness. There was some seriously hard working staff. The layout was not intuitive so a little lower in rating. An example you couldn’t be on say deck 11 and go from front(fore) to back(aft). You would have to go down a side stairwell or hallway for a bit not a straight walk. This happens on a few decks. If you have a good memory then it becomes easier otherwise it could be a challenge at times. The ship design is beautiful a very classic Italian theme.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was an inside cabin. We had it converted to the king bed. Enough room for 2 people. Put our suitcases under the bed. I liked the glass shower much more then curtains. Plenty of plugs and a mini fridge.

Ship tip

I would consider purchasing water , it’s a bit cheaper. We brought our own water bottles to fill. We got the 8- liter bottles for $ 20 ahead of time which works out to 2.50 a liter . If you purchase them in your room they are 4.25 a liter.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very simple processes, they gave you two options. You could bring your own luggage or you can have your luggage outside the door. We opted to bring our own. They disembark you by muster stations. Which keeps the lines down. It took us about 20 minutes from the time we were called and to get through customs.
