Very DISAPPOINTING! This ship, this crew highlights Carnival’s decline. After 7 cruises, this cruise will be the last one that we will take with Carnival.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Pre boarding was GREAT! fats and efficient. However once you go through security, they make you wait for your “group” over an hour. This is even though they give you an appointment for boarding. No sense.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Main dinning room- service was lacking. One night we were seated and waited 15 minutes to put in our order and 20 Min for appetizers and afyer 1 additional hour, we left because we were not served our main course. I informed the maître D and he could care less. He said oh come tomorrow and we will tty to do better. Shameful!
Buffet- breakfast was awful, bacon only available 2 days and is now served by wait staff. The variety, the quality and choices of food was awful.
One bright spot was dessert- good variety, selection and sugar free options were amazing!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Good variety of onboard activities. White/ Glow and masquerade parties.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Stage shows were very good- high quality and talented. The Latin Duo was outstanding. They provided great entertainment and made strong connections with audience to engage in singing and dancing.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Room steward- was good but provided minimal service. Waiters are overworked. Customer desk staff was rude and not helpful. Not customer centered. I believe that the low staffing level has created unacceptable demand on the staff that are there and they are pressured to meet a standard that they cannot meet.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Ship design was fine. The common areas were not clean, carpets were not vacuumed on at least 4 days on different areas of ship. The elevators doors and mirrors were filthy with greasy hand prints and there was a weird sewer like smell in the aft portón of the ship. The ship was also very hot many areas had no AC including elevators and several parts of Marketplace buffet and some hallways.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Cabin was good size- layout was a bit uncomfortable but ok. Generally clean but sheets and linen were. It changed daily.
Ship tip
Don’t sail on this ship. Low quality, dirty and NOT characteristic of Carnival Cruise lines.
Your "scheduled boarding" is not a boarding, it's an arrival at the terminal appointment. Boarding starts at the same time for everyone with Special Needs, Suites, Diamond, Platinum, and Faster to the Fun to go first. If you dont want to wait, book your appointment at a later time. I LOVED this ship and have three more booked on her.
I will be taking my third Carnival cruise in December… I have nothing but good things to say about the previous ones and look forward to the next. It’s hard to complain when all you have to do is sit back and relax 😊🛳️☀️
Sounds fishy. August 2 cruise from New York to Grand Turks with review complete with debarkation comments. It is almost like he wasn’t on the cruise. 🤔
Sounds like you spent the whole cruise looking for faults. And did they change your sheets daily on your other carnival cruises? I certainly wouldn’t expect this!
The reviews for this ship are either it's the worst cruise ever or it was one of the best cruises ever. The only thing I know is I have watch several YouTube video reviews on this ship by reliable vloggers and it is short staffed with things taking a little long in the MDR but who wants to rush a meal and get indigestion. There are long lines at the buffet, so try going when it's not so crowded. The limited availability of bacon is fleet wide at breakfast, so have sausage or ham or steak instead.
