The inaugural sailing from NYC was disappointing but we made the best of it.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We arrived early and had to wait until our time which was fine. Once they called our group it went really fast.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
We are at the MDR every night and had great service. The food was just ok but the servers were very great. The Lines for the counter service were always so long that we barely ate there. The buffet was very disappointing…there was absolutely no variety in food. Only good part was the desserts. The breakfast in MDR was not very good either. The pizza was delicious if you could find a time when the lines wasn’t so long.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the activities but the hot tub and pool areas were always very crowded. We expect that on a cruise though.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We loved the shows and comedians! The only negative was the lines to get into the comedy club. If you wanted a seat you had to get their at least a half hour early. It was very crowded.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We loved our room steward and our dining room staff!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Overall the ship was beautiful and clean. The only problem was it wasn’t designed for that many guests. There was lack of restaurants and bars for that many people.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a balcony cabin on the 9th deck. When we arrived our tv didn’t work. We let our room steward know and by the time we returned from exploring it was fixed. It was a great size and we enjoyed the view from our balcony.
Ship tip
Prepare to wait in line for food and drinks. The buffet lacks variety and appealing food.
This was very chaotic…they said to wait in certain areas and they would call you by your group. They never called any groups and then a staff person told everyone to go down the stairs to exit. We were crammed in a hallway and stairs as we slowly exited. Not ideal at all.
Carnival food has sadly devolved down to feeding trough level and it's sad. I hope they are aware of all the complaints and do something about it soon.
