Review summary

Food was okay. Room attendant and cruise director were awesome. The soda and chat packages were awful, definitely not worth the extra few dollars. We had 3 teen boys and we weren't able to keep in touch with them through the paid chat app. Rarely connected and getting messages from hours earlier. The kids clubs were fantastic, all the kids really enjoyed going there and hanging out.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was acceptable. The worst part was the bubble package (sodas). It was unlimited, but you had to flag someone down to order. Then they brought you a glass with ice and a can of soda, which they opened and poured into the glass. No option to get an unopened can to take back to your room for later, they HAD to open it an pour into glass. Why have a refrigerator in your room if you can't bring drinks back?

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We went to the pools and the serenity area and they were very good. My kids loved the kids clubs!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
It was cruise entertainment and was better than average, but there were very few nightly shows. On other cruises, on other cruise lines, there were nightly shows that were very well attended. Maybe it was because this was an older or smaller ship?

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Both of my kids (boys 8 and 13) loved the clubs. They wanted to go back to them constantly. Definitely the best surprise of the cruise.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
This one is hard. Our stateroom attendant was awesome, but some of the buffet and bars were very apathetic about serving us. A few acted like it was a hassle to get us a drink.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
For an older ship, I thought it was well-maintained. Clean in most areas, most of the time. Except for when other cruisers would leave a mess, even then, it was cleaned up in a timely manner.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Size and storage was excellent. A few things like the plastic housing for light fixtures would fall off when the door would shut, or the jets in the tub didn't work and was not fixed during our stay. The furniture on the balcony was excellent also.

Ship tip

Don't get the soda package or the HUB chat feature. The soda package is cans that they open for you and pour into a glass, you cannot take an unopened can back to your room. And the HUB chat was always up and down with the on ship Wi-Fi, constantly disconnecting or "unable to connect" to Wi-Fi. Useless.

Thanks for sharing about the HUB app - that's what we planned to use to contact our teens. Yikes.

Thanks for the review remember you are allowed to bring 1 12 pk canned soda per person onto the ship. It's a hassle but easier than getting service at the bars and cheaper
